I wasn't sure about the new home kit, but then (as he often does) my 6 year old has spoken sense on the subject. He's on his fifth incarnation of home shirt, the own brand wide striped flybe, the Umbro car sticker flybe, the sash, and the first aap3. I showed him the new one and he said he liked it.... I asked why.... He simply said that it would be boring if it was the same stripes all the time. We have a chairman who has shown he isn't afraid to make bold decisions... Lets just get on board....
Personally, it's not my favourite kit by a long shot. Completely ignoring the boring argument over tradition, I still don't like the design of the kit. I think it's lazy and boring, nothing to set us apart from a multitude of other clubs. But because it's Southampton, I will get behind the team and no doubt grow to love the kit just as much (if not more) than previous strips after we start smashing a few goals past City. Because ultimately that's what it's all about when you think back to your favourite kits isn't it? Most people when asked which previous kit is their favourite, respond with a kit that was worn during a successful period, or when they first started supporting the club etc. It's not the design of the kits that counts, it's the memories that you make whilst wearing them.
EXACTLY! We are Premier League again! If this is all we've got to moan about, we are in for (another) great season! COYR
Spot on. I have a FP shirt with red sleeves which I shall probably never wear again. I associate it with frustration and disappointment. Nothing wrong with the design, it was just the football.

Honestly thought the last one was some random fan they had roped in. I know he's young, but he's a bit slight isn't he? I'd be afraid of him blowing away every time he went for a header.
Not at all, held his own in the Palace cup game I thought. Although he said he had been hitting the gym to bulk up. I can't imagine him and Yaya Toure jumping for the ball!
Oh i'm sure he'll bulk up, but as you said, if he ever had to compete with Toure for a header it would look like this
Has anyone considered the Switzerland flag in all of this? That is predominately red, maybe this shirt is in homage of our saviour? Either way i am off to get it in a couple of hours providing there are any left!
Does anyone know if you can only get the new kit from the club shop, or will it be sold in sport stores? Need my old man to get one to bring over in a few weeks time and he's not in Southampton. Thanks
Only from the club shop in WestQuay, or from the Megastore at the stadium. Get him to order it online or over the phone and bring it with him.
He's a young Xavi - small, but owns midfield. Remember Lallana when he first came into the team? When he jumped, you worried whether he would come down again!
When the away shirt comes out I'm going to make a trip along the coast to buy it. Am I better off going to St Marys or the mall?
