Definitely seems to look better in person according to what others are saying:

Those who have brought the new shirt already, are the sizes pretty much the same as last season? I am thinking of ordering it online as don't think I can wait until the 14th! Was medium in last seasons shirt so assuming same again.

This used to drive my mother mad as she was a tailor, but now its commonplace even with mens suits as it saves material and time. Football strips are not bespoke tailoring.

Still looks shonky :)

Definitely looks better on! I don't mind it that much really, i'm just desperate to discuss something football and saints related. I'm 99% sure that's why this thread has 19 pages.

Personally would not buy a suit where the stripes don't match up. It is as you say though symptomatic of the general lowering of standards across men's fashion in general.

Photo no. 11 stands out for me. Last season's 'traditional' red and white stripes vs next season's red with white pinstripes. And you know what, I prefer the latter.

Boring is the completely wrong word to use, because it suggests dislike. And in no way do I dislike red and white stripes. But for want of a better word, boring does come to mind when looking at that photo and deciding what I think about last season's shirt in comparison. It's just an ever so slightly different version of many previous shirts. This new shirt though is fresh, and different, and I think that should be applauded.

Go back to red and white stripes in 2013/14 or 2014/15, I've got no problem with that. In fact, come that time in the future and I'll probably be wanting that. But change should be embraced.

If you dislike the shirt fine, but not if the reason that you dislike is just because it's not red and white stripes.
