I have finally got over another penalty disaster with the self consolation that at least we didn't have all the bluid up to get beaten by Germany.

Some good semi-finals to look foward to. And now neutrallity can mean I can enjoy ti more !! :)

According to their manager they are knackered, so don't expect too much from them. ;)

Well I feel that Portugal might just edge it tonight as they will not sit back and wait for Spain, they will go for the win! Unlike the remainder of the opposition that has faced Spain in this Comp!

Portugal did well tonight...till the shoot-out.

Spain looked off-key with the passing as Portugal put them under a lot of pressure.

Maybe Ronaldo should have taken one earlier but its a bit harsh to blame him for others missing...they are still well paid footballers who can kick a ball.

i can't believe i've sat up til 1:15 for another penalty shoot out, begging Portugal to win...well damn! lol

Great first half...the second half and extra time weren't so great, but hey ho..the best team on the day didn't win, but they're a better team..

I see the BBC have signed up an bona-fide expert in all aspects of international football for tonight's match, in the form of Jürgen Klinsmann.

Inexplicably they also have Gianluca Vialli.

And why on earth is Jake Humphrey reporting on matches? We knock them sometimes, but the BBC do have some top football-focussed presenters who would be better suited to that job. Ideally I'd say Mark Chapman, failing that Gabby Logan. Heck, even Colin Murray over Jake.

I know it's a cultural thing: it's almost unthinkable for a Mexican or South American commentator not to do it. For me, an English commentator doing it is a lazy option.

I went into the Euros with the intention of listening to games on the radio while watching them on silent (the time delay is practically non-existent if I listen via the internet), but scrapped that once I realised that Stan Collymore was commentating and that Sam Matterface is even worse.

I'm getting sick of the people who complain that we can't produce players like Pirlo. Paul Scholes is as good a passer, and in his pomp was more rounded player.

It's not the youth system's fault that English fans and England managers wouldn't know talent if it was staring them in the face.
