The england team is becoming a joke and it seems hogson is starting to favor his liverpool compatriots who finished mid table

Cahill now ruled out

I still perfere Rio ahead of Terry ....but this mess should have been cleared up months back

anyway now Kelly has been called up

Surley simpson is miles ahead of a Kelly who struggled with a mid table mediocre team

On RAWK some Liverpool fans were saying Kelly and Johnson should start for them instead of Enrique. Kelly's always seemed mediocre to me, as has Simpson. Why he's left Richards out is a mystery, better than Kelly and he can play centre half. Steven Taylor would've been a better shout than Kelly, where the hell is Hodgson planning to play him?

allegedly because Richards refused to be on 'stand by'. According to husband anyway ...

I think Micah Richards must have taken Roy's last rolo or something!

He was starting to become a regular for England and has been a key man in a title-winning side so he would have been rather confident of an England place.

Woodgate, a fine defender but always injured. Time for Micah to step in. Nope.

King's England career is cut short due to his physical conditions. Time for Micah to step in. Nope.

Hodgson doesn't fancy Rio due to patchy form and injuries, time for Micah to get his place. Nope.

Oh, Terry's a racist ****, surely he'll lose his place and not be allowed to represent England. Nope.

Cahill's gone and been injured? Luckily we have a CL-quality young defender in Micah Richa- oh, nope?

Well who else is there? Taylor's improved massively but coming off a serious injury probably not worth the risk. Williamson has been an ever-present in one of the meanest defences in the league this year, maybe Colo carries him a little too much.

Ah forget it, I'll go for a full back instead. Micah Richards? Hang on let's have a think. Statistically the best full back in the league this season has been Danny Simpson. He's not a match-winner, let's keep looking. Micah Richards can play a few positions? Really! That's decided then!

Kelly! <doh>

It makes no sense at all, does it?

What can Richards do? He's playing at the very top level on a regular basis. I really don't understand how he's not considered a 'big name', the media appear to consider the likes of Downing and Welbeck above him in terms of the future of England. Papers love whipping up unrest, I would have expected a bigger hooha over Richards' exclusion than Rio's.

It just seems that certain players fall into a void and never get considered. I can't understand it with Richards though as he has received caps and then disappeared. I'd certainly prefer him there to either Kelly or Terry.

In terms of Simpson I think he would definitely be a better choice than Kelly (though behind Richards for me). It seems that the old story of players from Newcastle finding it hard to make their way into the squad isn't changing. In some ways, from a selfish point of view, this wouldn't bother me as it removes any worries about picking up injuries etc. However, if it starts to become an issue with people thinking that moving to us could damage their international careers then that could have serious consequences for us s we seek to sign better quality players.

it comes to something when the team with the most players in the England team is a mediocre mid table outfit like Liverpool.
Without sounding like MrT we are doomed.

Richards? Ferdinand? Smalling? even frigging Williamson played more games for higher placed teams in the league, so they take a bit part player from an underperforming club along instead??? TBF Roy may have seen something at his time at Liverpool but not enough to warrant calling him up for a major tournament when hes never won a cap before.

I have to say i was all for Roy, but some of his selections have been as confusing as some of Pardew's substitutions.
