Cardiff are understood to be interested in Shrewsbury striker James Collins. Malky Mackay will first need to check with Watford manager Sean Dyce to make sure he is one of Watford's top transfer targets before making an offer.

Reading have agreed a fee for Watford defender Adrian Mariappa.

Watford will loan Reading goal keeper Mikkel Andersen on a season long loan in return.

Don't bank on that AK - we've made some good signings from them in the past - Chamberlain, Spring and Keen some to mind - but there's a heck of a lot of ill-feeling towards the little sh*te that is Connolly.

I am sure those who complained about us getting Danny Graham from Carlilse would have the same views about another League Two player.

As far as I recall he was a good player both for the Hoops & them (what a pedigree), but his legs had gone by the time he signed for us. My abiding memory is of his tackling, some of which was so late as to be embarrassing.
