Our weakness is LB. What about persuading Verm to play there full time, he's normally pretty handy for Belgium.
Yeah, wouldn't mind that tbh. His mistakes wouldn't be too costly and Koscielny and Mertesacker are better centre backs than him so it would work.
Vermaelen was not very good at LB, imo. He got exposed badly against United and he also looked ****ing miserable and even talked about not being happy with that role. He is a CB. Yes, he makes mistakes but if we can get a better DM, then he would not be as exposed. Yesterday, Ramsey and Song had shockers, so he was exposed even more.
Yeah, he definitely wouldn't make as many mistakes as he's made this season if he had a ****ing defensive midfielder in front of him.
Song is such a ****ing donkey. The guy thinks he's Iniesta.
We need a Martinez or M'Vila (if he can avoid getting arrested again)
Vermaelen postioning is quite poor mertersacker and koscienly had a good partnership going before vermaelen came back from injury anyway with gibbs being injury prone this back 4 can play a big part of are season next yr

No no no - TV is a cack LB. He's also gone downhill as a CB this year. I agree the best partnership would be Merts / Kos.
Mertesacker is too slow for the PL. He's a lumbering lump, and not that good in the air either. TV and Kos is our best pairing, or TV and Vertonghen if all goes well.
Szczesnys lack of communication did. Kos doesn't have eyes on his back. Sz even admitted to it.

CB's most important attribute is reading the game - anticipating the danger. Mertesacker is excellent at that aspect of the game. As for not being able to head the ball - I think that is way off. He started off looking second best in that respect but was actually improving dramatically as he gained more and more PL experience.
