Thomas Vermaelen is our best CB, end of discusssion. We concede far more goals with him out, than we do with Koscielny out.
Vermaelen is not even close to being our best centre back. Koscielny and Mertesacker are streets ahead of him. He makes mistakes far too often. Costly mistakes.

Of course he does. Every defender does, but Koscielny doesn't make half as many mistakes as Vermaelen. Vermaelen makes a mistake every other game, Koscielny makes one every 3 or 4 months, and they're not even major errors like Vermaelen's. Mertesacker also doesn't make half as many mistakes as Vermaelen. Get your head out of your ass and realise that Vermaelen is an overrated defender who costs us points. This isn't even close, can't believe we're even debating this.

That's not the point you idiot. Koscielny is a better defender than Vermaelen in almost every department. Vermaelen has made over 10 mistakes in the last few months alone. ****ing hell, people on here seem to think Vermaelen and Song are untouchable. They're overrated players who cost us points regularly.
How is it bizarre? Have you not got a favourite Arsenal player? Koscielny has his flaws like every other defender, but he's streets ahead of Vermaelen. It's not even close. Vermaelen is an overrated defender. I don't see how anyone can disagree with that?
Yes, Verminator is overrated, but he's still better than Koscielny. He's a better leader, he's a threat from corners, he's a better tackler etc. The only area i see Kos being better than him is at sweeping up messes created (usually) by Song/Ramsey. His positioning is suspect, but he has decent pace to recover (slower than Verm though).
Lol, sorry but but I can't take you seriously. He's a better leader than Koscielny, that's it. That's the only department he's better than Koscielny in. Koscielny is also a threat from corners. He doesn't score as many goals as Vermaelen because he doesn't spend half of his time in the opposition team's area because he knows he's a DEFENDER, not a striker. And Koscielny has the best tackling rate in the league this season. He's one of the best tacklers I've seen in a long time. Vermaelen's tackling is nowhere near as good as Koscielny's. Koscielny is faster, better tackler, better passer, better reader of the game etc. It's an endless list.
