But none of our defenders deserve praise for this season.

Bit of a defeatist attitude there. You're in good form, you went to the Bridge and won, going to Goodison shouldn't be too hard.

I agree with bear on koscielney. Mertesacker and Vermalen for me. Mertesacker has the positioning. He isnt great obviously but he is a leader and great for the club <ok>

Also his name is very annoying to spell which doesnt help <grr> (koscielney)

Yeh I dont rate vermelen that much either but with mert he can do ok. Mert will keep him from running off and make sure we keep a good defensive shape.

I also felt like Mert would make sure somebody sits in front of the back line whereas Kos and Verm dont have the balls to do it.

We need the mert to start when he is back <ok>
 
I think Vertonghen would be a good signing. He knows TV well, he's a good defender in his own right, and a solid DM, something we lack (no offence to Coq and Frimpong, they aren't ready yet)

To be honest I dont mind. I just want the mert to start when he is back. He wont though. Which makes me sad. I love how the mert is such a team player. Always encouraging the team and organising. I bet he was in song's ear if he left the defence exposed. You need that in a team :( So kos or verm...you might be right but I dont think it matters much.
