Why is it dynamite though..? Your team isn't playing..? OK, if the quality of the football is astonishingly high I might raise an eyelid from an academic point of view, but because I'm not emotionally involved it's really just watching moving pictures, isn't it..? I've always loved football, and played it throughout my younger years, but I need a motivation to watch it, and watching two teams that have no connection with me and my home town doesn't cut it for me. Perhaps I'm just old fashioned. Then again, I also resist, with every fibre, a media that tells me I must be interested, when I simply am not. I don't give in, watch and get all involved [not saying anyone else is different]. I go and do something else. I can be quite a hard sell, when I want to be. Incidentally, another example of this happened again this morning. Virgin Media post endless [and I mean ENDLESS] correspondence imploring me to take their broadband, TV, phone, mobile, etc... and I'm not interested, and I've told them so. In fact, the more they post me this stuff, the less I'm interested. SKY used to do the same, but they gave up, when I told them to stop wasting their time. I really don't see why I'm not allowed to be interested in what I want to be interested in and nothing else..? When I want something extra I'll go looking. This endless postage is tantamount to cold calling.
Well, emotional attachment or not, I can assure you that you'll love the UCL. And consider it a returned favour rather than a sell. I'm mightily pleased with a few of your musical recommendations
For when the lino gets it wrong. Just tuned in, and heard the Liverpool supporters singing You'll Never Walk Alone. I thought to myself, what do Chelsea supporters sing, and I remembered: Blue is the colour Football is the game We're all together And winning is our aim So cheer us on through the Sun and Rain 'Cause Chelsea, Chelsea is our name A manufactured football song if ever there was one.
