I would've preferred it if instead of Abide they sang our version of Amarillo.

Shalalalalalalala, C L A P - C L A P,

Shalalalalalalala, C L A P - C L A P,
Who the **** is laughing now???!?!?

Adrian Chiles to Gordon Strachan (this was asking about the 2003 Final preparations and I'm paraphrasing a bit here): "No disrespect to Southampton, but their players aren't used to big occasions and cup finals..."

True and I have no complaint with Chiles' comment but I hope Nicola Cortese, Nigel Adkins and co change that in the coming years. :)

Yep, she could put her own slant on it... Would bring a tear of joy to my eye as I sang it passionately.

Must be chilling hearing 50,000 singing it....

Indeed it was. Sublime football song right there.

Didier Drogba starts after his appearance on the Graham Norton show yesterday...

Hoping for a Chelsea win today to prevent a least-deserved double of all time. Then again, Chelsea are just two wins away from an extremely undeserved FA Cup and Champions League double.

Ermmmmm W H A T !??!?!

Did the commentator just realise what an obscene statement he just uttered? "Graham Norton really got inside him" When talking of Didier... EWWWW

Not really undeserved is it? They performed well enough to do it so it can't really be classed as undeserved, can it??

They've done well enough in each individual competition, but what I'm saying is that they don't seem to be nearly good enough to claim to have "done the double".

But does the Champions League really make more money..? Where is the interest..? Where does the money generation come from..? Am I alone in not having the slightest interest in anything that my team are not involved in..? Are there an awful lot of fans out there, whose teams are uninvolved, that apparently take an interest in this competition..? Or are they just bored and need to find something on the TV to watch..?

The UCL is awash with sponsorship money as TV audiences are consistently enormous right across the continent. I find the opening group stages somewhat tedious despite them throwing up the occasional surprise or classic but the remainder of the competition is dynamite. The four semi-final fixtures this year were outrageously entertaining. I understand your point but I am just a fan of the game and will watch pretty much any football match. Besides, you really should swot up on the competition we'll be gracing in a couple of years :emoticon-0105-wink:
