Reading between the lines, were the Allams trying to intervene with the footballing side - which they originally said they wouldn't. All the comments regarding the January transfer window, keep coming back to one player - Billy Sharp. Are they saying the money was there for him, or for strengthening? If money was there generally - then everything is still as messed up as it was before, and definitely no clearer.
40k a week for Billy Sharp is ludicrous he isn't worth it.There were better options for that sort of money.
40k/week for half a season isnt that much.. especially if it gives u a much better chance at promotion.. and lets face it, the only thing that stopped us making the play off's is goals.
In the HDM which i must admit i have not read yet but according to radio sports news the Allams were prepared to pay a striker up to £40000 a week now this may be true but i always thought they wanted to run the club has a business and had a strict wage structure in place. They may be telling the truth but it does seem strange anyone any thoughts
You're asuming that he'd come in the first place (not all players want to go to places for family, personal reasons even if the money is right) and hit it off straight away. I don't know the ins and outs of the Sharpe, Hammil sagas. Also, It doesn't always work like that in football, and he could have come here, on those wages, and been a complete flop. On that basis, the other players might be thinking we've done more than him for this club, and we want a bit of that money he's on. Barmby would have unrest in the changing room. Plus, the fans would be on his back. We'd have been a laughing stock if that had panned out like that.
It wasn't 40K a week for Billy Sharp. Allams say it was 40k for a PL striker and that they did not get asked for money for Sharp. If this was the case then this should have been known in January. I dont beleave for one moment what the Allams have said in the HDM. Its no good now staying what they have. AP/NB had agreed a deal for Robert Snodgrass from TWS in January but the Allams would not agree to it. So for them to come out with what they have is beyond belief. ALLAMS OUT OUT OUT. They are LIARS.
If it had been a proven PL striker with a past then the dressing room would have gone with that. But it would have had to be someone good.
Burnsy mentioned the other night that there were players the owners pulled the plug on. I offered him a couple of names from what I've been told in confidence and he hadn't heard either of them, but said it was a bigger name than both. There was another guy stood with us and I gathered from one of your previous comments that you were that guy and he might have told you who it was.
Anybody know where the Allams got Billy Davies' name? If you needed a new manager, does anyone think he'd be top of the list of candidates?
Quite correct ^^^^ this. Reports from Southampton say that Sharp signed for 25k a week but it would rise to 40k a week in the PL. I can see and understand why NB may have felt that too much.
They looked him up in the yellow pages. On a serious note. Davies got sacked for wanting more money out of Forest and surrounding this whole story, there's this doubt about the money factor in the January transfer window- whether it was there or not. Personally, i don't know if the Allams would won't another gobby get criticising them and going against their plans for City.
Nope sorry. The point being that we now know that The Allams are fudging it and telling us porkies. AP/NB cannot and wont say anything at present so Allams have free reign. Another disturbing story is that Ehab and Davies are mates. Jobs for the boys again me thinks. Has not Billy Davies been on Forests payroll until the end of April. Unable to take another job during that time.? Looking back at reports following Davies sacking. Many Forest fans want him back and Cotterill out. Interesting.
