I totally agree with this, for me he's done a very average bordering on poor job as manager. But if they'd come out and said this and it was for footballing reasons we'd have swallowed it better rather than the cloak and dagger stuff.
Indeed. When I worked as a consultant I had a contract that could be terminated with no notice on either side.
That's rubbish. They clearly haven't sacked him based on results, or they would have just said that. Barmby has sacrificed a lot for this club, and he deserves so much more than this - even if they did decide to sack him purely for footballing reasons, then they couldn't have handled this in a worse way.
Well that isn't correct, his results record was equal to that of Nigel Pearson and the Allams were pretty upset at him going. I think it's about power and control and money. I think they want more control and saw Nick's "justified" comments as a threat. I suspect Adam had enough of biting his tongue and finally had his pennies-worth and they sacked him as well. Thing I don't understand is if they want a "Yes-Man" they couldn't have chosen a worse person than Billy Davies. I think this has been a massive over-reaction and the club will suffer for the Allams mistakes. You watch I won't be allowed a season ticket now I've said that!
OLM There are rumours that they wont comment on NB as they may have just sent him home to think... like a verbal suspension (Go home, don't come back, think about things...). Could be this all blows over if he is prepared to return and talk?? I hope both sides reconsider and it sounds like it is still an option (with obvious contingency planning if not). Not sure there is more to it than than! If so, other than criticising the business decision they have made, it hardly warrants the abuse on here. Stupid, and stubborn maybe, but it doesn't change the ££££ thay have ploughed in to save the club. I don't see any crooked motives or sinister finances anywhere - it's just a power thing?
Going to have to disagree with this, whilst I do concur that they may have wanted rid of Barmby due to some of the results, I personally feel that it was squad depth which was the most crucial factor in our inability to make the play offs (not fully exonerating Barmby tho) which needed to be taken care of in Jan, whether it was through permanant or loan transfers. I don't think that there are many managers who could have guaranteed a play off squad with the players that Barmby had available. An additional striker, defensive cover and midfield cover would have meant a much more managable March period, when we truly ballsed it up, and the choice to not get coverin can only have come from the Allams unless Barmbs is truly stupid
do you even know what racism is you complete and utter cretin? No? Thought not, crawl back under your rock you clueless ****.
Ooo, you really got me there. I mean, being professionally employed in the field for over a decade is nothing compared to a man with a keyboard who saw some premier league games.
Henry Winter is talking a bit about us on Twitter: Nicky Barmby cares for #hcafc & was doing a good job. Adam Pearson is a good football exec. Why lose quality like that? Baffling
I think it's entirely a power thing. And I'm afraid the scenario you have outlined isn't the case, he's simply been sacked and it won't be reversed.
Legal reasons - they will have been advised by their solicitors not to say anything - Nick will have been advised likewise
Hmm, a racist, ignorant, conspiracy theorist who can barely string a sentence together without expletives. Your mother must be especially proud.
Has anyone thought to ask NB why he isn't saying anything? Perhaps he is at home considering the reasons that he has been 'suspended', not fired, suspended. Perhaps it is more than a few words about transfers. Or can Sir Nick do no wrong? Perhaps we should await more 'official' comment. When a new owner comes in to save a club from administration, then pumps in over £50M of their own money, then spends time going through the accounts and every aspect of running the club that was practically bankrupt..... you would expect them to break a few eggs when making a new omelette. Hull City was going into administration. Now they are financially stable and rebuilding. Just don't expect everything to be smooth. You will never know what gets unearthed with a root and branch makeover - and most will be dealt with quietly in the background. But you can expect the owners to make changes as it happens and they won't all be popular. They will likely all be necessary though. And if Nick either goes or gets demoted to assistant and Mick McCarthy was then appointed manager. Would that change anyone's perceptions?
You're about as clever as a fish in a chip shop! I'd still like you to point out what's racist you arrogant idiotic buffoon.
If the Allams have made an approach to Billy Davies then AP probably told them they were bloody stupid. End of matter.
Nick has done absolutely nothing wrong, the reason for his sacking is farcical and it is a sacking, the suspension is nothing more than procedural. I think things are going to worse before they get better too, as each hour passes I'm hearing about more and more ridiculous things our owners have done and I'm now expecting us to lose several key players in the coming weeks. This is simply a car crash, I thank the Allam's for saving the club, but it doesn't prevent me from also saying they haven't got a ****ing clue what they're doing and they are behaving like a pair of ****s.
