Nah we won the Carling Cup in 2008 I think - Mr Woodgate to the rescue!
I think we beat Leicester to win the Worthington Cup one year as well? I forget.

apoel nicosia beat Lyon by the way
4-3 on pens..didnt expect that.
Would you have suggested the Carling Cup doesn't count if your team didn't keep losing in the final?
I'm going to say 'no'.

The BBC's "unbiased" view of the two penalties:
"And White Hart Lane was stunned into silence when Ryan Nelsen tripped Byrom, who had made a driving run into the penalty area, and the midfielder sent Carlo Cudicini the wrong way in finding the bottom left-hand corner."
"He conceded the second penalty of the evening for a challenge on Bale, although replays showed little contact. Adebayor, a first-half substitute for Lennon, nonchalantly sent Day the wrong way from 12 yards."
Huh? The Stevenage penalty was the one with little contact, although usually they don't mention that kind of thing at all unless it was a clear cut dive
Bale also hit the bar with an absolute rocket that apparently wasn't worth mentioning.
All in all, the BBC get themselves another 0/10 for their match reporting
