Sorry that is just rubbish! His value in holding the ball & getting the ball in forward areas contributes a lot to this team. You mistake skill and confidence for laziness. Defoe is a goal scorer and little else, Adebayor is a lot more.
He's definitely not lazy and he creates more goals than he misses. He's our leading scorer and also has more assists than anyone else in the division, bar David Silva.
Fair point BUT he is crucial to the 4-5-1 system and also he can form a partnership, which is also important if we have to switch to 4-4-2. Personally i wouldn't be too gutted if we never signed him as i just feel there is always something missing with him, as we need someone with more ability to score in tight games, always as link up well.
I cant see ade keeping up his form each year, he strikes me as a player that peaks early then slowly dips in form as the season progresses as apart from that great season he had with the goons when they went for the title, i remember him as a player that had ability, but you couldnt rely on him when it mattered.
People talk too much about assists. Once the ball has left the assisters foot it's out of his control and then totally up to the player to whom he gives it. He could fluff an easy chance for instance and then where does that leave the assister? Nowhere. Sorry but the argument for assists means nothing to me and it's goals that matter more. He's here to score them and he falls short in my opinion. I've heard many posters say he's lazy.
He's not just there for goals, though. That's why Defoe can't play in our current system. Adebayor holds the ball up far better than any other striker that we've got. That's essential when playing in the 4-4-1-1 and it's reflected in the number of goals that he's created for others.
Rather immature view on assists as how would the finisher be in the position to score if the ball wasnt at his feet? assists are generally what create a goal as it takes a football brain to put your team mate in a position were they just need to hit the target and score a goal. Yes sometimes assists arent that clear cut as a simple pass and then an outstanding finish is were the finisher gets credit BUT dont overlook how important it is to have team mates that create chances.
Two things we can guarantee from that: 1.) Vertonghem will be signed 2.) Caulker will be getting more games next season I'll leave that to THFC6061...
Not going to be reading all this thread but has anyone heard anything about the injuries? Other than the injuries I'd call it a positive night. Spuuuurrss are on their way to Wembley
The Boss, did it matter who assisted Bale with his first goal of his hat trick against Inter? No it didn't so I reject your immature criticism.
Looks like you will beat bolton and make the semis. With united, us and £ity out you have a good opportunity for a trophy here A trophy and top 4 = great season for harry and you boys
1.Benitez for Spurs. 2. Assists don't matter. 3 Adebayor just scores tap ins/penaltys, and is lazy. That is what you have said, which is more to the point. They speak for themselves without the need for comment from me.
id take that arsenal4life.......you boys could get 5th and the Emirates cup in summer and id say youve had a corker too...chuckle...chuckle
Didn't watch much of the match lads so Can't really comment on your performance. Though would like to know how seriously do you want Harry to take this tournament or are you not really bothered about it as Champions league football is more important?
What I think you mean Spurf is that you don't have any worthwhile comments to make that you just have to post something even though it's nothing.
Chuckle...chuckle... The emirates cup is a big deal Maybe we will invite you one year...would you come?
