The worst thing for me in it all is he continuosly plays clubs like a professional fiddler and gets away with it. He clearly has the talent - as demonstrated at Ipswich last season when he HAD to turn it on to get a contract - but literally as soon as he gets that contract he stops playing. The same will happen again now, he'll be sackd by Ipswich, go on telly (Soccer AM) talking about how all he wants to do is play and he loves football, get a short-term deal, play a blinder, sign a hefty contract, stop playing. Repeat ad nauseum. The man is disgusting.
The thing is if he is let go by Ispwich no other club will want to touch him with a barge-pole (as every club must be checking on the background of a player before he is signed). Perhaps he or his "advisers" need to get him to admit he HAS got a problem and get help with it because otherwise he will just be throwing his life away with his alcohol problem. (We all know he will be living in squalor in a less than exclusive area of a town just using his money to fund booze).
He won't live in squalor: he's earned enough to be able to booze away for life in glorious splendour.
I think you might be right and he needs help. Reading about Tony Adams and Paul Merson it seems its quite common in football and they can get help with their booze problems if they want to.
He's had his day now - how old his he 32? He knows it and is prepared to toss it off. Hope Ipswich sack him like we did and he'll be well and truly fooked.
It was absolutely nothing to do with him signing for us, all the things we warned the Ipswich fans about were exactly the same things the Fulham fans warned us about. He's a pisshead waster, he was before he joined us, he was while he was with us and self evidently still is.
A bit late for that Manuel! The case was settled out of court. The figure agreed was very favourable for the club. Bullard however didnt know the difference between gross pay and net pay, so when he found out what he actually would get he wasnt happy. However he had already settlled!! Hah!
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17244711 He will wind up some sort of long haired Gazza! Always drunk and washed up and seen in bars/clubs/crackdens off his pickle. Isn't he a bit old for night clubs? Particularly when he has a well paid job requireing him to act responsibly? Sad really.
I still do, more AP the season before though, oh and Barmby's egotistical assault that should have seen him sacked. I do worry about Jimmy's mental state though, we're reading more and more about depression in football. From the outside looking in this looks like a textbook case. He was on the verge of England when he signed for us, and now he's an Ipswich reserve player, something somewhere went horribly wrong and it's far too simplistic to say "He drinks a lot".
Unless they took a blood sample when he arrived at training late on the Thursday, in which case he'll be signing on.
Yes it is the truth. My source is from inside the club at the highest level. The settlement was 3 weeks ago.
I dont have to prove anything. If you think it is bollocks - then fine. It isnt written down anywhere, it is a verbal discussion.
I agree, it is way too simple to say, "He drinks a lot". It's more of a case of, "He drinks a lot and is a complete arse wiping, frizzy haired, cockney wide boy, bell end of a bloke". I could go on.
Not sure I believe that to be honest. Any settlement of a dispute is recorded in writing so it can be enforced if one party doesn't comply with it
