I may be wrong but I think it’s pretty well documented that people with an all pervading drink etc etc., problem don’t suddenly perform like a near world class players, win accolades etc from fans and Manager, get a new contract and then sink back into drinking binges, not turning up for training etc and become the managers nightmare “jack the lad” etc. Then miraculously "recover" from their problems, play like near world class players, win accolades etc from fans and Manager, get a new contract and then sink back into drinking binges, not turning up for training etc and become the managers nightmare “jack the lad” etc.

Just doesn’t happen unless you are a twat who cannot give a **** about anyone but himself. I think we are all talking about one of those.

Bullard wrecked his own career not Fulham, Hull City or Ipswich Town.
 
Got to say all this concern about Bullard is hilarious. Does anyone on here actually think he gives a flying f*** about anything or anyone but himself?
The bloke is a typical modern spoilt brat footballer. He doesn't even care about the latest club to throw him a giant wage packet for taking the pi55.

I'm sorry but I think you misunderstood, I didn't call Bullard great only that he had a talent we all wished we had, playing football for great rewards for a living. And that he would join the list of others, who were far more talented, by letting drink ruin his career. Nowhere do I mention about him being great, that would an insult to those I did mention. Nor, to add to another post, did I say I think we should, pity or feel sorry for him, I would find it very hard to feel sorry for someone on a reported £45,000 a week whether they turned up for work in a reasonable condition or not.
 
I know how Jimmy feels, if I didn't drink too much, I'd probably be in the England squad too.

If I grew my hair, bought a caravan and learned how to play football, I'd be nailed on.
 
Jimmy Bullard, just is a total **** up in waiting. I feel sorry for his family. At least Hull City will never have to pay a penny to him now.
 
Everybody get off Jimmy's back, Solano was out too, he didn't turn up to Hartlepool's reserve game! No desire that lad!!

How do you know? Have you ever been to alcoholics anonymous? Believe me I have, and what you're dismissing out of hand is actually text book. Fair enough, being a footballer and putting on the show might be to the extreme, but being able to hide alcoholism when you need to is a clever trick!
 
Paul Jewell said he punished Chopra and Bullard how they would be hurt the most by it. Chopra got a 2 week fine and Bullard suspended for 2 weeks

Basically he said Chopra only cares about money and Bullards already declining reputation just got worse

It's a crap excuse, the reality is that Bullard has only played thirty minutes all year and he's not bothered about losing him, he can't afford to lose Chopra.
 
Solano wasn't properly out with them he left on Osbourne Road them before they went to the nightclub for 'Koosday' at Tiger. However I have seen pictures of Bullard with he pants round his ankles in spy bar and heard stories of him being thrown our of Osbournes for fighting which is when Solano left them as he had had enough of his antics. Bullard and co 'were drunk but well behaved in the club' before the event manager left with Bullard and 3 women.

Fair enough, I'll bow to your knowledge on this, as I have never been to an Alocholics meeting, only read about the subject and talked to a few people who have been involved. So it's a call from that knowledge and just watching this mans antics and pattern of behaviour. I'll reserve final judgement for the future.

I thought there might be a response like yours because some people will always see the best in others, and put it down to an illness like alcolohism which controls them. It's a pity in his responsible periods of application to a normal life he doesn't see the bad times coming and then and do something about it. Maybe he does need help, I think Hull City did everything expected, and if they discovered he was a chronic alcoholic I would have thought assisted treatment would have be a first call.

Strange they didn't notice his illness with all the backroom staff they have? They could have used it to challenge his contract.
