Great Result, some odd observations....

I don't think there's any doubt that the twelfth man can make a significant difference on the outcome of a game.

There's been a couple of games in Sheffield and one in Barnsley where think it was particularly significant.

But any City fan who buys a ticket is free to do whatever they want, I don't believe it makes them any less a supporter, just as long as there's enough stood and singing that it doesn't show us up.

That said, I think that Scunny and Forest, where everyone stood all game, were far better games to be at, so maybe the few lines of this post are bollocks.:emoticon-0138-think

The last thing we want is a load of mutes who refuse to back their team. They dilute the noise and if there are enough of them they act as buffer zones and prevent chanting or singing from spreading.
They are not acting in the best interests of the club by not joining in with the singing.
If it was down to me I would ban them or at least relocate them to areas of the ground where they wont reduce the atmosphere. Because thats what they do. Boring and selfish and they are not wanted.
How many times do you have to read the program notes urging fans to get behind the team etc before realising it is a fans duty to support his team and be vocal.
I wish those that dont sing would try and help improve the atmosphere.

I agree about the east stand i sit there because i like to sing and get the banter west you would normally associate with the quiet fans anyway ... but not acting in the best interests of the club ?? these fans paid to get in money is in the best interest as we saw with nearly going bust .... baning them is way to harsh think we would end up with a half empty stdium if we had your way
 
last time I went to the KC - Reading in Jan. we sat in the west stand cos I was with my bro-in-law and my nephew (7). personally I would rather be in a noisy stand cos as much as you may want to you can't stand up and sing on your own in the west..

there are stands for everyone, anyone who buys a ticket to watch the team is welcome.. one it's revenue, two it's voacal..

I agree with the sentiment that those who boo and jeer are not helping.. it's negative psychology, teams with loud backing do get an extra man.. they get roared on.. it can change games that's why football is so special..

I wish the KC was more of a couldron of noise.. you feel as a fan you're affecting the outcome...
 
I forever have people telling me that I'm the only East Stand fan who's sat in the West Stand.

I have practical reasons for being there, far too boring for me to explain on here, but it will be probably not be a surprise to most that I have been issued several formal warnings for my behaviour. What did surprise me, is that when word got round that I had received my second formal warning and that I'd been threatened with being kicked out, fifteen premier Club members threatened to cancel their memberships if I was moved. They might be quiet in the West, but they at least support those that aren't and considering that our season tickets are £1k each, I was quite moved.

Adam is trying to shift the away fans to the North West corner, I hope that at the same time he tries to move the E-1 to E-3 fans into the North(I realise many don't want to move) and also moves the flask/blanket brigade down towards the south, so that there are a noisy bunch of West Standers next to the away fans too(there are many of us there, that aren't being utilised).
 
I wonder what the average age of city fan is? Just from looking around the KC on a saturday, it looks about 35-40! This maybe the reason for it being so quite. We need to get more younger fans into the KC! Im not saying that older people are boring, just look at average age of stoke fans, id say 20-30. Younger fans make more noise.

"Sure its better with "a bit"? of atmosphere. Are you for real? And as it not being the ONLY factor you amaze me at your ability to see things through blinkers and not see the bigger picture.
Adam Pearson, Phil Brown, Peter Taylor and Brian Horton have all publicly called for vocal support in recent times.
It can raise the spirits or urge the players on to one last superhuman effort.
There is no wonder the KC is so lacking in atmosphere with fans like you and others on this thread in attendance. You do ruin it for those who want to get behind their team and let them know they are right behind them.
Or do you want it to be just like a library?
You must be blind not to see the value of fans winding an opposition player up such as Bellamy or Tarabt.
Sat there mute acheives nothing and detracts from the atmosphere.
Luckily the fans who i go with are all rowdy and love to get behind their team. Exactly how it should be. Get carried away with emotion. Filled with passion. Let your hair down.
Have a laugh.

I will probably try to organize something with the other Swedish Hull fans next autumn, unless we make it to the play-offs, no idea how I would afford that but anyway....

I like the atmosphere, I stand in E3, have a drink and get behind by the team. I just realise that that's not how every supporter wants to view the game, its well established by now that if you want to sing, go in the East Stand, if you don't go in the West, if you're a cheap bastard go in the South. So criticising the West Stand for not joining in the singing is a bit off tbh.

Every fan who pays their money has the right to view the match the way they want, just because you enjoy singing and shouting doesn't mean everybody does. If people like you spent yoru time singing and shouting instead of saying "Why isn't everybody doing what I want them to do?" maybe the atmosphere would improve.

Whilst we're on the subnject of atmosphere though, I'd say it's the team's performance that makes the atmosphere, not the other way round.
 
Erm I'll have you know TWF that I sit in the south stand and my season ticket is more expensive than friends in the west and east stand for some reason :s
 
I also sit in the East.. but the East/South corner... you still get the atmosphere ...... but what i believe used to give us a good home atmosphere was when the whole.... We're the east stand... We're the south stand chant came along.. and the East Stand/South Stand Tigers ...... always lifted the atmosphere and when we used to all sing to the West stand to give us a song.. whats happened to all of that ?



The Atmosphere adds to the game and makes it more excitable ...... btw about the age thing.. im 16 if that counts ? :emoticon-0102-bigsm oh yeah.. plus the East's the cheapest stand.. not the South ;)
 
There's people who get behind the team in whatever way they can and then there's those miserable sods who don't contribute anything, I know which one I'd rather be!

I think the differences are caused by the length of time that people have had season tickets. As there have been discount periods applied for renewing your pass, i.e. it is cheaper to buy earlier, then percentage increases added to the price paid as the costs of a pass have risen, this has magnified the price differentials for pass holders. I know that I pay less for my pass than someone sitting near me who has only recently bought a pass.

Twf'y, due to the wording you used in an earlier post, I think that other posters took it to mean the whole of a stand, and, replied to you accordingly. If you meant only one area of one stand, maybe you should have made that more clear for all to see. But, over-all your comment is fairly well balanced in saying, that, if you are part of the " Prawn Sandwich Brigade" :emoticon-0172-mooni :emoticon-0149-no:, or, you do not want to hear, or your children to hear bad language :emoticon-0127-lipss:emoticon-0173-middl, you have other areas to choose from. :emoticon-0103-cool:
 
My brother-in-law has a box at FC and i was really surprised by the amount of noise that 12000 people can make when everybody sings. He was surprised when i took him to see the tigers with passion and noise in E1 E2 E3.
