Wow, finally someone gets it. Sure his views don't match everyone elses, all the time, but ffs you lot are like a pack of school bullies sometimes.

I agree with him about flares, even if it was a smoke bomb, they're sort of hot and dangerous ffs, it shouldnt take much to work out why thats a bad idea at a foot match. I could give a **** about other countries, some of them shoot their players too, and I think thats a bad idea too.

I also can't stand the elitest ****ing attitude about standing up or singing too. I don't mind the odd sing song, sometimes they're funny, chanting is ok too, as long as its not offensive. I dont understand why fans, and even players think that behaviour that would get you banged up outside a stadium is perfectly acceptable inside. Not everyone is able to, or even wants to stand up during a game. Its not big, its not clever, it doesn't make you a better fan.

Stop ****ing bullying people, its childish.

Oh and since when has anyone NOT from Hull, or at least the very near local area support City? Seeing a City shirt anywhere in the world, you can be fairly sure that the persons from the City.

Apologies for the rant, the pack mentality we keep seeing really ****s me off.

Not sure what "stem" means, but probably no :emoticon-0111-blush Pedersen is Danish! Huge difference, arch rivals ;)

Myself and TWF have had a little chat, I think that we should all just wipe the slate clean and only comment on what's posted from now on.

I for one think TWF is a vaulable poster to this site people need to lighten up a little. He adds great debate to the site and if you try and see where his coming from he does have valid points. Just becuase he prefers the old regieme (our most successful ever) to the new does not make him a WUM

I support the Tigers even though my feet have never walked on England's mountains green, in ancient times or otherwise; nor is any of my family from there. I do not have a club shirt, but I wear a Roary scarf during the season. There are quite a few British expats here in Vancouver, and the sight of Roary around my neck has sparked some great conversations about the Tigers and football.

Before the promotion playoff against the Robins in 2008, I was (shock! horror!) an Arsenal fan. Ten days beforehand, I had read a preview of the match which included the fact that Hull had played at every level in its history... except for the top flight. That tidbit spurred me on to find out more about the club and the city and its less-than-stellar public image. I then said to myself: If they beat Bristol and go to the top, I would stop being a Gooner (which I had been for 20+ years). Deano made me into a believer and I'm still here... me and my Roary muffler.

So call me a plastic fan if you like but I'll continue to support HCAFC's efforts, especially if the Allams and the Pearsons keep going the way they've started.

to be quite honest i agree with TWF you dont have to go and sing to show your support, i know a couple of people that don't like to sing doesn't mean they shouldn't be allowed to go.

Meh ok theres some of you not from Hull, but thats not usual is it?? Was more alluding to you see someone with a Man U type shirt on and your first thought isnt *I wonder where in Manchester hes from?* its more likely to be *I wonder if he even knows where the fook Manchester is*!

I certainly wouldnt describe any City fans as plastic either btw.

    Roary Glory,

No-one is going to call u a plastic fan after swapping Arsenal for Hull... if after we'd got relegated you'd gone back Gooner-way then maybe but why after 20 years? that's a long time to support a club then change.. a lot of kids will swap and change at school but it's rare for adults..

There are people in Hull who think it's wrong to support Hull City AND Hull FC.. now that is a special one, cos in my book they're two different games entirely but there's more to it, with the ground, the Boulevard history etc.

Me for example when I was a student in Derby, I went to games (on the cheap!) to the old Baseball Ground but I was never what you'd call a "Ram", I was till a City supporter even though we were crap then..

Yes but the team respond to vocal support. The crowd can be like an extra man. How many times do we hear the manager or chairman asking the fans to rally round and create some atmosphere?
The last thing we want is a load of mutes who refuse to back their team. They dilute the noise and if there are enough of them they act as buffer zones and prevent chanting or singing from spreading.
They are not acting in the best interests of the club by not joining in with the singing.
If it was down to me I would ban them or at least relocate them to areas of the ground where they wont reduce the atmosphere. Because thats what they do. Boring and selfish and they are not wanted.
How many times do you have to read the program notes urging fans to get behind the team etc before realising it is a fans duty to support his team and be vocal.
I wish those that dont sing would try and help improve the atmosphere.
Or go in West stand or stay at home when we play away.

@Tigercity: Frankly I had grown bored of Arsenal over the years. Normally I prefer underdogs, so it was odd that I backed the Gunners for so long. When I read the stories about the Tigers in '08, I felt like this is a team that I could get behind. Of course, it would have been a different story for me if the Robins had won that fateful match... although I had no similar thoughts about supporting Bristol City if they had won.

So the promotion playoff win at Wembley sealed my emotional involvement. The event that solidified the rational side of the equation for me was when the Allams stepped in to buy the club and begin to address the excesses and bad decisions of the Duffen/Brown regime.

I also own a copy of the Housemartins' London 0 Hull 4, so that might have played a very small role in my decision. But mostly I saw the Tigers as a bunch of scrappy bastards based in a remote area and who narrowly avoided bankruptcy (sorry, I meant "administration"), and those things really appealed to me. I also discovered that it's easy to support a club like Arsenal, but it takes more of an emotional investment to back a club like Hull City. This too has its appeal for me.

Very pretentious post, I'm honestly not sure if players actually think "Oooh, they're callling opposition fans ****ers! Let's try harder!", or "OMG, is that Southampton's song but with Hull instead of Saints? If they're going to try that hard to be original I'd better put the effort in too!".

Sure it's better with a bit of atmosphere, but it isn't the only factor to the team playing well, and by saying everybody who doesn't sing "isn't acting in the best interests of the club" is complete bollocks, not everybody wants to get pissed and sing songs that are so generic if they were human they'd be middle aged white men called Steve.

Bit harsh that, chillo although I agree with the sentiment about trying to keep a vocal crowd together.

all the fans who dont sing can stay away.and stop putting there money into the club, and we can resign the likes of junior lewis and delroy facey....

when you go to away games, you start to recognise people, the same faces there all the time.especially in small folowings, like millwall away on tuesday nights, and cardiff on tuesday nights..and its more or less the same 300/400 people there..
id say half the people i recognise dont sing, as being in away direct im normally sat near the same people, ..but there more then welcome at away games to me...after making those journeys..
