I don't think having Carroll would force us into playing 'hoofball'. It just means you have to put a lot of crosses into the box, which has nothing to do with how the ball is played out of defence.
Andy Carroll is a far superior player to Leon Best and could easily replace him in the current side.
All this bullshit about Carroll being a target man for 'hoof-ball' is laughable.
Do England play that way? Did we when he was here? Not as much as some of you are suggesting.
I would have him home in a shot.![]()
Taking candy from a baby..!
Exactly.
With Ba and Carroll up front, we will be great in the air, crosses can be flying in for them to get on the end of. People forget, he's got a deadly left foot on the lad. I think he actually misses the toon. When playing for us, he was playing with passion and pride, for the team he's always supported. @ Liverpool the fire in his belly has gone and he is on the bench as a consequence.
I would have him back too!
But variables have changed, the wage he picks up now at Liverpool and the buy back price would be steep also. But i'm sure MA can con the bin dippers againTaking candy from a baby..!
post rant question...
Dunno if its been posted cant be arsed to read the thread, but would anyone chance a loan offer for Torres?
if we could get him in the worst case scenario is just the same as not getting anybody in for cover, best case is he gets game time, less pressure, and gets some goals for us, i think its bound to come for him soon so if it is this season i wouldnt mind if he came here
Just a though, so try not to hange me
What if we got him back at a hugely cut price and he instantly started scoring again?
"Here's the plan Andy; we're gonna flog you for an absolute fortune!"
"What?!?!?!"
"but, when you go you just play like utter garbage and then we get you back at a cut price. It's good for the club!"
"If you say so gov, but I'd rather stay"
etc..
Or he's a money grabbing gypsy who built a reputation on Nolans passing and Bartons set play.
Top one would be cool though
we've all had a day dream of this scenario I'd imagine.I disagree that it would be embarrassing for all parties. It would be embarrassing for Liverpool for paying mega money and selling him on for half the price back to the team they bought him off. It would be embarrassing for Carroll as he would basically be saying I made a mistake and shouldn't have left. However it would be amusing for Newcastle. We have a player for a few years who fires us to the Premier League and then helps us stay up in the first year and receive £35 million for him and we then sign him a year or so later for half the price...that would be hilarious not embarrassing for us, especially if he recaptured his form at the start of last season!
I would take him back as long as he wasn't on massive wages and for no more than £15 million. Him and Ba up front could be lethal as long as we wouldn't play hoof ball.

probably. Just some tiny part of me that what to utterly deny the treachery lol (yes, I would call it that after what he said)probably. Just some tiny part of me that what to utterly deny the treachery lol (yes, I would call it that after what he said)
Seriously though, there's a whole world of strikers out there! Stuff Carroll, lanky streak of pi$$.
