First he turned his back on Scotland.
Then we walked away from Newcastle.

If he opts to prefer Vanilla instead of Pistachio then I know it's a personal vendetta against all I hold dear.

Still have him back at Newcastle though.

Obertan is terrible in the air for someone his size, he seems scared to go for the ball with other players around and just backs off or doesn't challenge.

I'm convinced that Shola retaught him the offside rule.

Very true, with his jump and height though you'd think he'd be able to rise above everyone else if he gave it a go. He's such a frustrating player, he has so many good attributes but nothing seems to work together. I'm sure if someone let him run the length of the pitch at full pelt and then jump at the end he would just take off.

We are pretty bad too. Alonso, Mascherano, Torres, Owen and not so much...Meireles.

I'd rather we didnt play any striker that encourages hoofball. Ba in front of Ben Arfa, and play how it's meant to be played - on the floor.

On Carroll, I'd say probably all fans (at least PL ones) are similarly bitter about players leaving. And on Obertan, he truly is a fascinating creature, I'd love to see an Attenborough special on him.

    EDIT: also on Obertan:

The point is though Smudge playing long ball to Best or Carroll is not their game. Its about educating the players about playing out from the back. This is something Pardew seemed to do well with until James Perch got involved. I think we'd actually better form from both Carroll and Best if their respective teams played to their strengths. The only time either is really effective aerially is on the end of crosses.

Hoofball doesnt suit either one of them particularly, but because they are big it just encourages centre halves/Simpson to hoof it long, rather than giving it to Cabaye to distribute properly. They would do OK if we played our normal game, but just having a "battering ram" up front sometimes makes defenders take the easy way out.

Its one of the things I've liked about Pardew. He has a similar mentality to KK in this regard, you must play out from the back. Its common sense, the key to winning most football matches is having the ball. Why make it a 50/50 when you already have possession of it? Boils my piss and was the main reason I could not stand Allardyce. You can see Pardew screaming at Krul who is guilty of it despite being tidy enough with his feet. It defeats the object of buying Cabaye. I know what you mean about it encouraging some players but that is a coaches/managers job for me. To instill a certain mentality regardless of personnel. The only time for direct football is really late in the game at desperate times. When you got the likes of Nolan, Jose and Barton playing football, Carroll looked dangerous.

Goes back to what I was saying about both sets of fans being quite passionate. Not really just another sport to our lot.

True, I hate the defenders hoofing it upfield when Tiote and Cabaye are right next to them and 90% certain to play a pass out wide, successfully. Instead they make it a 50/50 and even then, the striker has to give it to Cabaye/a winger anyway, Best and Ba are hardly going to take the ball down then dribble through the opposition defence. Agree though, first thing I'd do as a manager is get them to play out from the back, makes the world of difference.
