The people smugglers are not stupid.
They know only one thing will put their customers off crossing the sea in those dangerous boats.
Mass drownings.
If the current Government claims any credit for nobody crossing the Channel in bad weather then it insults people's intelligence.
Which is exactly what Rishi Sunak's Government did.
One of the most pathetic spectacles of the last few years in Parliament was watching Labour and Conservative politicians arguing over who gets the credit for temporary dips in illegal boat crossing numbers, when everybody knows it was 100% down to the weather.
Politicians deny reality. They deny science. They take people for fools.
They spend all their time manoeuvring and plotting their own schemes to gain power and privilege.
While outside the Westminster Bubble society grinds to a halt.
No justice - the legal system has effectively collapsed. Five year waits for trials.
No healthcare - The NHS and social care are crippled and on the point of collapse.
No housing - it is considered a good thing for the economy that only millionaires can afford to buy a home.
No policing - coppers are tied up in regulations and are attacked by everyone, politically and physically.
No education - collapsing schools, worthless degrees, massive student debts.
No way to make ends meet.
No decent jobs, except for a tiny elite.
No border controls.
No protection for kids from online perverts and hate-mongers.
Criminality everywhere. Shop lifting, drug selling, gangs in control of high streets.
The British People ignored, betrayed, sold out. No help for anyone except the richest 1%, who gorge more and ever more.
40 years of lies and self-serving incompetence from our so-called leaders.
Now we have the Greens (old Labour lefties 2.0) and Reform UK (Conservatives 2.0) claiming they have the answers.
Same tired old pantomime.
Sorry, most of the above belongs in the politics thread I expect.
But the migrant crisis - like all the others listed above, is a symptom of the lack of leadership Britain has suffered from since the 1980's.
