Difficult to see anyone challenging Kimi for the drivers title now. I think Lewis is into 2nd now but he's miles behind.

This has the potential to open a huge can of worms. If Alpine can prove that Gasly was incorrectly penalised then there is a good chance other drivers were too. Now, for Lewis it doesn't matter at all. But for George Russell, who served a drive through penalty for not serving his 5 second penalty for speeding correctly....
 
Not sure how you'd unwind that outside of giving back the "default" time for each and readjust the final classifications.

Isn't a drive through set as 20 seconds if not able to be physically taken before the end of the race? Though in Russells case taking the original 5 would have been the right choice at the time and then the drive though wouldn't be an issue, except in his case in his attempt to get back to the front he'd likely have binned it into someone / a wall / his teammate

The penalty against George is admissible because it’s really funny.

The drive through is irrelevant imo. Just because the first penalty was wrong it doesn't mean breaking the subsequent rule should be negated.
