For their upcoming games, Scotland have chosen a striker with 4 Championship goals, ahead of Oli McBurnie, who has 14 goals and 6 assists for Hull City this season.
Clarke's got his favourites and McBurnie doesn't appear to be one of them.I think McBurnie's physicality would be an asset for them but it doesn't look like he's in the plans for the World Cup.

Which is a good thing as it avoids possible injuries .

McBurnie was asked about his chances at the recent Question of Sport event and he said he doesn't think Clarke likes him so he's not very hopeful.

Separately, he was mentioned on a non-City related podcast I was listening to recently where his international record was being mocked because he has 0 goals in 16 games for them. Does seem daft to ignore his City form but seems he's not taken as seriously by some neutrals. In fact, I remember a lot of City fans being unimpressed by his pedigree when he was revealed to be our top target last summer.

The Iranian Football Federation says it is in negotiations with FIFA about moving Iran's World Cup matches to Mexico due to safety reasons.

Mehdi Taj, the President of the Iranian Football Federation said in a post on X, external: "When Trump has explicitly stated that he cannot ensure the security of the Iranian national team, we will certainly not travel to America."

He added: "We are currently negotiating with FIFA to hold Iran's matches in the World Cup in Mexico."

Last week, Iran's sports minister said it was not possible for Iranian players to participate in the tournament after the US launched airstrikes alongside Israel on Iran.

US President Donald Trump has said that Iran would be "welcome to the World Cup" but that he did not believe it would be "appropriate that they be there, for their own life and safety".

The Iranian team are scheduled to play two group matches in Los Angeles and one in Seattle.

Funny thing is, it’s suspected quite a few of the national team who play in Europe are Pahlavists and against the current regime. Saw a post online that Allahyar is one of these suspected players. He even has a Lion and Sun tattoo, I think.

Nothing in there to stop keepers going down feigning injury - they won't get them to leave the field of play for a minute!

So they want the game speeding up by having time limits on those three issues .
Is this so they can expand the time spent on VAR decisions to 5 minutes so advertising space can be sold ??
FFS don't bloody well give them the world cup for 30+ years it's simply a business transaction for them and FIFA

VAR brought to you by Arby's. Ref's decision, sponsored by Kodak, is a penalty kick, sponsored by Costco.
