I thought he was like a bull in a china shop. Great athlete, shocking footballer. Had the touch of a donkey and luckily was quick enough to catch his touch. Wasn’t sad to see him leave.

Slater took the armband on Friday when LC went off .If he’s not explicitly shouting some will never be convinced. Load of bollocks. If he wasn’t a good “on pitch captain” he’d have changed, simple as that. All managers have kept him as the captain.
The only argument I have for it is because he’s a full back. I’d much rather a centre back or centre midfielder
That'll be at least seven million pounds please.
More reason to tie his contract down.
He'd only just be out of contract with us this summer if Westerlo hadn't taken him off our hands, there was a point where we put a huge amount of faith in him with a contract length only matched by Greaves'.
I'm not going to be cocky and say I told you so, but I told you so...You must log in or register to see media

On the field captain? Nah, I don't get it.

Have to agree. He was a cracking athlete just not very good at football.I thought he was like a bull in a china shop. Great athlete, shocking footballer. Had the touch of a donkey and luckily was quick enough to catch his touch. Wasn’t sad to see him leave.
He was only 21-years-old when we signed him permanently and was already a cracking athlete then. He just needed to improve the technical side of his game. As proven by Slater this season, it’s not too late to improve the technical side of a player’s game if he already has a good attitude and is in good physical shape.Have to agree. He was a cracking athlete just not very good at football.

We did, same with Oscar, but both were casualties of us chopping and changing strategies. Rosenior didn't sign or want either and replaced them when he could, then we shifted style back to one that suited Oscar but by then he was fed up of coming and going it seemed. He’d be a very handy player to have on a Championship bench. Imagine you are winning 1-0 and under the cosh a bit and then you bring his pace on, gives the opposition a lot to worry about.
I do feel like we gave up on him too quick.
