-2C is nothing to a little salt. What really gets me is that Hull City's safety officer could have very easily ordered the technical area to be tarped over and be placed out of bounds, there is nothing in the rules that says a line official can't encroach on the pitch.
You really are ****ing thick or have absolutely no idea about football, “ tarp it over “ honestly if it was so sad it would be funny…..

Wasn't just the technical area. The 3g around the whole pitch was frozen solid too, so any momentum running out a foot over the touchline would have been a hazard.

It should have been anticipated and covered properly the day before, and any meltwater dealt with before it froze.

But it's never happened before so they wouldn't have anticipated it.

But if you think to postpone the game all we would need to do is nobble the undersoil pitch heating a day or so before the game rather than pay stewards, catering, Humberside police, security, ambassadors, match day staff and fly the owner in from North Africa to then call it off in front of a full stadium where a lot of our own fans have travelled hundreds of miles too is delusional beyond help.

And none of your imagined sanctions the club might face are ever gonna happen.

Just so you know. Collusion between Hull FC officials and/or staff to deliberately have the game postponed unnecessarily would be considered a criminal offence, maximum penalty 10 years imprisonment.

My last words on this thread. ... Bye
Not the brightest are you?

Salt destroys turf and contaminates astro with grit. So just replacing one hazard with another

And no ones getting done for collusion you prick.

Goodbye.

No idea? I only played it for twenty years, even got paid for it ... that's including back when frosty pitches didn't stop games and my ankles are wincing at the thought of it.

(Yeah I know I said I wouldn't be back but this post amused me)

Collecting Power League money from your mates doesn't count as getting paid to play Football.

You’re coming across as a complete moron, you should have stopped at ‘bye’.

Inexcusable. Shambolic. Was going to say 'amatuer' but that's unfair to amatuer clubs!

Frost Protection

We’ve had a cold start to 2026, and this persistent chill can be costly for sports at every level, a postponed match may lead to significant financial losses, including:
  • Lost Matchday Revenue: Ticket sales, refreshments, and merchandise income can take a major hit.
  • Operational Costs: Expenses for staffing, security, and stadium operations may still need to be covered, even if the match doesn't go ahead.
  • Rescheduling Expenses: Rearranging the fixture can lead to additional costs and logistical challenges.

To avoid these disruptions and expenses, ensure your pitch is prepared with our range of Frost Covers. Designed to protect against frost, they’re an effective way to minimise the risk of postponements and keep your fixtures on track.

Why would a rugby team whose season hasn’t started yet collude with anyone, you eejit?

Are we really responding to this wind up merchant ? I mean really ?

Given what I've seen on one of their forums, X and other places - compared with his offerings here - I don't think he is a WUM.

I've enjoyed reading it to be fair. Don't get me wrong - seems like an absolute git of a guy - and is the sort who'd warn you that not taking that library book back could lead to a 5 year stretch but it's been that overly dramatic and hysterical - it's providing some light relief.
