Two things really stand out with that goal.

First, Gordon's contribution was dreadful, much worse than Woltemade's. His clearing header was absolutely piss poor, his press on Xhaka was poor and he failed to even challenge Mukiele. When the the header went in he ignored his team mates, expecially Woltemade.

Second, RLB gives the Newcastle bench an evil stare, turned away, then gave them another for good measure <laugh> <laugh>

Yeah I noticed that real time on Sunday re Gordon's header and reaction to the goal. Nordi absolutely ruined him. He was literally laughing at him on three or four occasions, one in the first half when he ran the ball out of play and the others in the second half directly in front of us when he just took the ball off him.

Brilliant to watch it and I get the distinct impression that the club really enjoyed their revenge on Sunday and that the lads will be leaping off that bus at Sid James in March fancying their chances.

They'd need a bit of time to describe our "style of play" mind!

All of us watch all the games and you often don't know what's coming. We don't have a "style" really, Regis and his team set us up for who we play.

That's why so many teams, for so long now, "just couldn't get going today" or " weren't at our best". It goes back to the start of last season when Cardiff and Burnley were saying the same as they were wondering where the points had gone
I agree we don't have a style and long may it continue. RLB has stated many times, he wants the players to adapt and respond on the pitch. He has given them the main set ups needed in defence or in a press but doesn't seem to dictate what and when to use it.
He's a one off, where most coaches all seem to adopt the current trend .

Howe arguing with his captan's post-match comments, not a good look especially when Tonali and already made noises about his future and Isak fought tooth and nail to get away ...

"He was 90% right initially. I don't think we were a mess, I don't think the other parts of his original comments were wrong. But we weren't a mess. We were very well organised, we just didn't deliver the performance that we wanted to."

Looks like he's losing it ...

There's been rumours for ages that Gordon is using the mags as a stepping stone because he wants to play for Liverpool. It wouldn't surprise me if it's true and he's angling to get out now. Add in the Tonali rumours and that Elanga was supposedly signed because he was Isaks mate and they hoped it would be enough to keep him there (and ye seems "off" right now) and you get the feeling it's a very unhappy camp there.

That's just excellent. Young uns and old uns looking absolutely made up. What a year it's been.

Dead right mate, easy to focus on the mad lads with shirts off and setting off flares ... (Which is great.)

... but involving kids, owld fellas and middle aged Doris dancing is brilliant by the club.

I was reading a post over the road about a video shown on the big screen before the players came out. They were all saying how good it was. So to ward off a fomo could someone who knows what video it is they were talking about post it on here. Thanks in advance etc etc.

It started off with Xhaka tapping a microphone and then it was fast moving clips of memorable moments of glory and celebrations. Proper hairs on the back of your neck moment standing watching it. It was really well done and really got the crowd going.

I'd love to see it again if there's a copy of it online.

‘I felt at home’ – Enzo Le Fee admits Sunderland move was ‘crazy’ but better than Rome after Newcastle derby heroics

The Sun

ENZO LE FEE instantly fell for Sunderland – and was delighted to repay their love and deliver the best early Christmas present possible.

Eyebrows were raised when the 25-year-old French winger left Roma to reunite with his former Lorient boss Regis Le Bris in the Championship last January...

He said: “We already knew it was an important game, not just for us, but for the story of this city. Our target was to win this game in front of our fans, to give this present before Christmas. It feels just unbelievable.

“I was in a bad situation in Rome, and when I came, honestly, I knew everything about this club. I knew it was a big club, because everyone knows, but when I came, I just felt I received a good welcome. After one week, I felt at home.”

“I’m a football player. I don’t want to be on the bench, I want to play.

“I said to my family before I left Rome, I knew the coach and the project he proposed to me was good. So I just want to go there and help the team to be in the Premier League.

“And when I watched the series on Netflix, I said, ‘OK guys, we have to be in the Premier League.’”

Le Fee continued: “I didn’t know it would be intense like this, but to live everything with this club, with this city, is just crazy.

“When I was in Rome, some people said: ‘Oh, you’re going to be in the Championship because you go to Sunderland.’ But what I’m living here is just crazy, and I can’t find a club like this. I’m just happy to help this team and enjoy it with the fans.

“I’ve known the [owners] for a long time. When they called me, I didn’t hesitate.

“Now we’ve got some moments together, we share some moments together, we feel more and more [at home] every week.

“We have just the start, but it’s been crazy until now. But hopefully we’re going to have more big moments.”

While Le Bris remains coy on the prospects of qualifying for Europe, Le Fee is reaching for the stars. And he believes they can overcome anybody at what is turning into a Stadium of Light fortress.

He added: “It’s not a club, it’s a city. We can feel everyone is crazy to see us. Everyone waits for the weekend to see us play, and when we play at home, we feel something different.

“We are stronger, we feel anything can happen for us, and it was the case on Sunday. Even when they pushed a bit, we felt like we were 100,000 people, and it’s crazy.”

He is 100% the type of flair player that football fans will love, capable of brilliance and he has had too many to mention them all but still loving the meg at the weekend! But on top of that his work rate is like a midfielder who is in there for their defensive side, he loves a scrap and a tackle!

He is class and is really starting to show his quality!

While allowing fans might love a flair okayer who gets stuck in I doubt he has been roared on and cheered as loudly for tackles before!

If we can hang on to these players and maybe bring one or two quality players in then I shudder to think where this group can go... we have something special here, led by RLB the sky is the limit

I'm not worrying about it because its the model but some of these players are looking so good Sadiki especially that clubs are the very top must be looking.

Got to be confident that the club will do the right thing and sell at the right time as they have done so far! Until then we enjoy them and with any luck we will step up a level or two amd keep them longer!
