Likewise, 2 in-form teams and would take a draw now. Doc will get great reception. Good excuse to post this

He came to us with a reputation for strikes like that.
Unfortunately that absolute belter proved to be the exception rather than a norm.
Always gave his all ... but seemed too limited for Championship level to me. Good for him though if he's performing well for Charlton.

Yes, a bit like a midfield Kyle Joseph. Put in 100% and could run all day but you never felt he was quite good enough. Good honest pro and glad he is doing OK there.

Players at this level increasingly need something a bit special about them more than giving 100% these days. A level of skill and/or physicality is needed and some stand out attribute to go with it.

If Theo Walcott was coming through today would he even make it to the premier league, let alone the top end and the national team? Not sure he would.

Doesn’t look like a particularly big crowd again for Saturday. Can’t believe we had the big crowds for some of our worst football.

Sergey and the gang deserve a big one!

I will be there. Hope that helps! My season pass only gets used a couple of times a year….bloody kids getting the way!

I thought he always had a threatening shot on him when he laced one to be honest. His first City goal, away at Oxford in League One during covid, was an absolute beauty of a volley on his left foot. He just wasn't good enough at the more subtle stuff; keeping the ball in tight spaces and his passing in general weren't anywhere near as good as his shooting.

What's the difference between this and the Leicester game, 2 in-form sides for that one too. Why settle for a draw before we've even see the lineup.
We need to be going for the win, the draw is second prize.
Were Leicester in form? 5 draws in their last 6 or something.

Well, fair point, but we were neck and neck in the table, just like us and Charlton now, and Leicester were thought to be a 'top side'. I'm just surprised that some posters seem to be almost playing for a draw, and that was before we knew who was fit or not. I just think we're good enough for a win if we turn up again.

I think most think the same, just that a draw wouldn't be outrageous.

hadn’t lost since mid-August and were 4th in the league, must have been doing something right.

Yes, not losing games. They then lost to us. They now have 1 win in 7 and their supporters are pretty frustrated. Perspective is a funny thing! This is all getting a bit nitpicky, I merely questioned the observation that they were in form, they were performing reasonably average.

Giles is fit for tomorrow. who'd have thought 4 months ago that that would be great news!
Excellent news...Kids having some season and forming a telepathic partnership with Millar, thus far. Just need to get Lundstram, Belloumi, Matazo, McBurnie, Williams and Palmer back into the mix asap..because little doubt others will drop out along the way.
