Well he has cost them £35m, in Jan he will just sign a pre-contract agreement and go there next season for free, unless Liverpool go back in for him in Jan.

You can only sign pre-contract agreements with players in the same country a month before their contract expires. The six-month rule only applies to clubs from other countries.

For example, he can sign a pre-contract agreement with a French or Spanish team in January but he can only sign a pre-contract agreement with Liverpool or another English club in May.

Some other transfers that went on at other clubs:

Patrick Roberts went on loan to Birmingham from Sunderland for the rest of the season.

Portsmouth signed Conor Chaplin on loan from Ipswich, goalkeeper Joe Bursik (I like him, thought he got a raw deal at Stoke) and striker Makenzie Kirk from St. Johnstone.

Coventry moved for Luke Woolfenden from Ipswich after they were rebuffed for Hughes.

James Bree has joined Charlton on loan from Southampton.

Sheff U signed Mark McGuinness from Luton, Ogbenne on loan from Ipswich, Alex Matos from Chelsea on loan and Ben Mee from Brentford.

Millwall signed Thierno Ballo (tricky winger) on loan from Wolfsburger and Will Smallbone from Southampton on loan.

West Brom have signed Sam Illing-Junior (very good signing for this level) and Charlie Taylor on loan from Aston Villa and Southampton respectively.

Leicester have signed Julian Carranza from Feyenoord, Jordan James from Rennes and Aaron Ramsey (not that one) from Burnley all on loan.

Wrexham signed Ben Sheaf for stupid money (we had his brother Max for a while - he's now at Gateshead) and Issa Kabore (who played in the PL for Luton) on a season long loan.

Apparently Rangers splashed out £8million on a striker who hasn't scored a goal in two years. From Everton

Looking at free agents (EFL clubs still have a week before the registration window closes), there's a few that stand out:

Josh Brownhill
Sergio Reguillon
Hakim Ziyech
Christian Eriksen
Rick Karsdorp
Marko Pjaca
Paco Alcacer
Emmanuel Dennis
Zymer Bytyqi
Daniel Amartey
Alex Oxlade - Chamberlain
Samuele Vignato
Adam Ounas
Jason Denayer
Diego Laxalt
Rafinha
Jairo Riedewald
Juan Bernat

Free agent keepers:

Fraser Forster
Vincente Guaita
Rui Patricio
Andre Moreira
Dimitry Bertaud
Moez Hassen
Vitaliy Botnar
Vladamir Stojkovic
Tim Krul
Kosuke Nakamura

You could legit build a free agent squad out of those lads that would finish higher than we will this season. Anybody wanna try and assemble an XI from that list?

Max Sheaf holds a unique Hull City record that will never be beaten. Anyone wanna guess?

Some good moves there. Didn’t burnsley just spend an absolute arm and a leg on that Ramsey from Villa when we signed Philogene? Thought he was supposed to be the next big thing.

Ipswich look to have ditched loads of their promotion squad oddly.

We finish the window with 26 overage players, so someone will have to be left out of the 25-man squad registered with the EFL and therefore unable to play until January. James Furlong is maybe the most likely candidate. Maybe Matazo depending on how confident we are of him being available before January.

Think Darko and Vaughan are u21’s. Darko turned 21 in Feb and Vaughan in April. Isn’t the u21 rule anyone that’s <20 on 1st of January?
