Absolutely & as I said, get out of jail card, he was offside. Norwich, well? Look, I get it. He got there. It happens. He might come “good”. Me personally, can’t see it. Yes, did it for Roker but that was years ago. I’m hopeful with the new squad but we need a nine & I just can’t see him being it. Nor AA obviously. Could be massively wrong of course?

Why would we need £15m to sign an €8m player? Is this some kind of prudence thing where we work out the entire cost of Scienza over his contract in addition to the fee and make sure we have that first? That’s the only way I can think of. And I’m still not sure that much will be needed.

We are currently on around +70m EUR for this summer. I know there is a relegation hole to plug but I’m not sure we absolutely need more funds for another signing. Just squad and wage bill space

Surprised by the number of signings this window. I am seeing this as evidence of the disatisfaction with the playing staff last season as much as the management.

I guess the inverted commas are because if you extrapolate Archer and Stewart’s goal rates across a season they would be 20 goal a season strikers. Not that it works that way

Or maybe it’s because we have two that have done it at least once - BBD and Armstrong. But the former both shows absolutely no sign of doing that again and looks to be off. Two is multiple …

The mentality wasn’t there at all and hasn’t been for ages. Whether that’s a player or culture thing remains to be seen. We still have the same captain and he has been here throughout the entire time the mentality hasn’t been there. But the players around largely haven’t

Get the feeling that Still is the type of manager who will be open and honest with individuals who aren’t part of his plans, so I expect several players to leave over the next 3 days, with a mixture of sales and loans, as unfortunately, most of them won’t have suitors lining up.

Stewart (BBD and Armstrong) have both have had +20 goal seasons. Armstrong's is so recent, he may not be beyond resuscitation

    Yes. This is my point
I do hear the argument that they have had very few chances so they may be snatching at those that come. But equally I have this view that we miss a string of good opportunities (not just the strikers) and then lose the game when the opposition is more clinical in attack and less catastrophic in defence.
I just think we could benefit from a No9 that just bundles stuff in and bullies the centre backs.

Similar & then I look at Stoke. Robins had them relatively puriring offensively last week. Horses for courses but we’re definitely feeling our way, forward wise.

Club want £10m for him, so raising £10m-£15m in sales seems fair.
I have no idea on our finances, obviously we’ve sold a lot, but we’ve also dropped tv and commercial revenues

Our commercial revenues were always appalling anyway

I don’t think we will be paying 10m for this guy. They want 10m EUR and our opening was 3m EUR (incidentally his transfermarkt value). Actually seems like too big a gap. At the most I’d assume we’d try and meet in the middle or look elsewhere

Do you still think we'll be mid-table and finish below Pompey?

Despite the trauma of last season, I'm content with our strikers for this season. There are small signs that they're starting to gel.
That being said, and as long as we get another winger in, if we have a loan available I'd use it for a young striker with potential (I know, don't kill me!) on an option to buy if we win promotion.

Just watched all the interviews, and whilst they always have a slightly shall we say contrived nature, all three lads seem decent honest guys. Can’t wait to see how they do.

Like it or not Stewart, Adarma (more than once) and BBD all have 20+ goal seasons. Archer has also shone at this level.

I'm not suggesting they will again but more that signing 'proven' 20 goal a season players at this level could easily just be re-arranging the deck chairs.

I prefer to see Spors and Still decide on merit.

Stewart doesn’t. He scored 10 in 13 before getting his big injury with Sunderland. So was well on his way ratio wise
