Still a few days left Gaz.Do you think Scienza is still a possibility? Sounds doubtful now?

I agree that today has been very positive- given that we all knew deep down that Fernandes and Dibling would go.
But
Our central strikers are poor. Downs has no presence and Stewart, even assuming he isn’t injured in 2 weeks, showed at Norwich that he can’t finish great crosses from 3 yards out.
I would go for a centre fwd now. Even from our level. Like we went for Rickie back in League 1.

That is a really good point. I’ve been critical of Stewart before too but hopefully now they will get more bites of the cherry and perhaps only then would it be fair to judge them.We don’t really know that yet. Yes, they’ve both missed a chance in every game, but they’ve missed one chance because they are only getting one chance. Haaland misses chances too, but if he misses one, he tends to get the next, or the one after that.
The point is, we need to get them more than one chance to score in a game, which up to this point is all they’ve had to work with…

Stewart has done that in both the last two games. Of course, off side in the Stoke game. Got there twice but couldn’t convert. A little good but god awful misses.Exactly. Any striker, even the top, top strikers, need at least a couple of chances in a game to score. No striker on earth is banging 20 goals a season in with only one go in each match.
I will say, on the flip side of that, a top, top striker will get himself in a position to get more than one chance a game too. There is that, of course.
Yeah and that’s kind of why I was critical but I guess if he has 3 or 4 of those in a game, over a season that could add up to quite a few goals. Up to now, as we know, the service has been pretty sparse. I guess unless we are buying a proven 20 goal striker in the next 3 days, we will have to wait and see. Overall though I feel more confident about the forwards than I did a week ago.Stewart has done that in both the last two games. Of course, off side in the Stoke game. I can see some of the players we want out going on loan instead of permanent transfers.
Blue, yes? Very bold blue. The thing is - we have multiple 'proven' 20 goal a season strikers at the club. And we still aren't happy!

Still think he should have finished it though. He was almost under the cross bar.The chance he missed was also a cross that was fired across at him, closer to his hips than his boots
