Looks like Edozie and Aribo will still be at the club this season. The window in Belgium now closed and the Turkish window closes on Friday. Weird considering both have obviously made it clear they wanted to leave with Edozie supposedly deciding between clubs in Belguim and France?
Not sure they both wanted to leave. They were both involved in early pre-season. Think it was more mutual in a sense they could look for other clubs and because our squad was so big they didn’t have to risk injury. The trouble for them and us is the wages. Even if they had a relegation reduction in their contract they’ll still be on more than most clubs mid championship and lower could afford and abroad it would only be top tier clubs from the major leagues. They’re decent players and no harm having them both here
I almost think it was the opposite of them wanting to leave. My guess is Still decided he didn't rate them (or we could do better) and they were told to try and find other clubs. The wage thing may be true of Aribo. Thankfully his contract expires at the end of the season so, while it's a shame we couldn't get a few quid for him, he's not going to be a long-term drain on our resources. I'm not sure about Edozie's wages. He was signed as a 19-year-old who'd barely played any first team football so I kinda doubt he's on a massive contract. I suspect the problem there is the only interest was from relatively inferior leagues/clubs and he doesn't want to step down that far. Could even be that he just doesn't want to move abroad. As you say, they're both good enough to contribute in this league so it shouldn't be a big deal.
I’m fine with both staying. Who have we got as wing options in the squad? Scienza/Fraser/Fellows/Armstrong? Having Edozie in the mix as well as a rotation option seems like a good thing, plus he could have a breakout year if given the chance. Similar with CM we aren’t exactly stacked there so Aribo as an option is fine, just have to actually let his contract run out rather than (if we go up) thinking he can do a job in the PL again
