It's gone totally quiet on Lucumi altogether. I assumed he was going but Bologna wanted a replacement first. Fingers crossed it's us!! Hatchard said today that Alderete has played RCB a bit and is comfortable so get both in
As far as I'm aware the problem with two left footers is just the one on the right is usually not used to playing on the right because they always play on the left from academy onwards. If he can play on the right fine then that's problem solved get Lucimi in and that's all the problems sorted out and we laugh our way to automatic promotion to the super league.
Yeh to be clear, I’d probably put Lucumi in the “unlikely” category now, especially with speakman comments about Alderete signing as we needed a left side centre back. But I don’t think it’s beyond the realms of possibility. What I think is more likely is Lucumi signs for Bournemouth and we come up against the Petrovic - Diakite - Lucumi back line many of us wanted
Must say I’m happy with Roefs, Alderete and Ballard so far. Sign a quality right centre half and we are laughing.
From this morning on the northern echo Pressed on what areas he still wants to strengthen, Le Bris said: "We'll have two or three options to test and see if we can improve the squad." As is always the case, though, Le Bris will only give a deal the green light if he thinks the player is the right fit for Sunderland on and off the pitch. "For every player, we speak about the position and style of play and characteristics," he explained. "So for a winger, centre-back, striker, it's always different. For the characteristic, we have to be really clear about the identity and the way you can connect as a teammate. Behind the scenes, Sunderland are working hard to find new clubs for the players who don't feature in Le Bris' plans. The likes of Hemir, Abdoullah Ba, Ian Poveda, Joe Anderson, Pierre Ekwah and Timothée Pembélé are all available to leave. Asked whether any deals are close, Le Bris said: "At the minute, no. I think we'll have to wait for the last two weeks. "It's always like that. The players and the squads observe the market. The first games as well are really important to assess the level of the squad."
Yeh I think everything will go quiet now for a week or two whilst teams focus on the matches and assess where they need to prioritise. Then it will all goes bonkers again leading up to deadline day.
****ing click bait that. 'Amad transfer request' To precis - Teddy Sheringham think Amad might not be happy if he can't play regularly and at some point would consider his options.
Think he’s making it clear now, no more transfers until after the first couple of games to see how the squad copes. Happy with that.
This endless gossip about player's unhappiness, and how they're wishing to explore their options, is becoming ridiculous ... ... is there any chance we can at least pretend that all these players are other than egotistical mercenaries who want to actually play football. Who's paying Sheringham to spout all this shyte?
Bit silly that mind, you could be close to pinpointing his apartment from a couple of things showing in that photo.
I know where he is. That said, that part of the Quay doesn’t have balconies so he’s on a roof. If it’s a penthouse with a roof terrace then there’s only the one it could be.
Got ya. I’ve not been there for years but it’s clearly very close to a landmark. Plenty of the enemy would know where he is from the picture as well.
Hardly matters tbh ... ... they're just football players, not gangsters on the run from Interpol. People are becoming obsessed with all these lunatic conspiracies.
Oh aye easily. It’s opposite the Baltic and due to location of Millenium Bridge it’s heading towards the Tyne Bridge. There’s very little residential in that segment and none with balconies. St Anne’s has balconies but the angle is wrong that would be directly over to the Baltic with the bridge to the right. He may just have access to a rooftop, but the finishing around the top makes it look a roof terrace. And aye Smug, makes no odds. Bunch of Sunderland players lived in the Baltic when I did, was known, and they were never bothered by anyone. There was no conspiracy from me. I lived Newcastle for years and still have a couple properties there, I get why folk wanna live there (even if it’s gone downhill last few years)
RLB lives at Washington, in the house Amad was given, so what? Him and Mrs RLB walk their dog in the park without the need for special branch or International Rescue ... .... people are getting hysterical over f*ck all. My uncle Mervyn used to sit on the bus, to Roker Park next to Monty ... ... assassin attempts, zero, although someone once tried to ask him to move seats so he could see out of the window at the pie shop.
