Well thats a cracking signing given our position aint it, welcome to the pleasure dome Mr Mcburnie, I have a sense we're gonna have fun this season.
Wonder who the midfielder we want on loan is. If we can somehow add him, Gelhardt, Williams and Zambrano it is honestly a 10/10 window. Frigan could even take it to 11/10
Reminds me of us signing Snodgrass in that sense. That worked out alright. Actually Honeyman as well, he might've only played against us once before signing for us but he did my head in in that game, I thought he was a proper ****house. But again it went well with him im our side.
Plus Akintola to be confirmed, it really would be the perfect transfer window considering the circumstances.
Hate to be a spoilsport but didn't many on here say we won the transfer window last January-how did that go. And similarly when we signed Ben Arfa when we were in the Premier League
Destan, Akintola are unknowns, Ndala hasn't played this level either, Williams could go either way and if we signed Frigan - well not enough fans have seen him to know whether he'll be a good signing or not, they're just going off hype. It's been an encouraging window so far, as we have a championship proven spine now -something we haven't had in a while so whilst I'm definitely optimistic, there's still plenty of unknown quantities in there for me not to start making premature declarations just yet.
The the big signings we’ve made, Lundstram, Ajayi, McBurnie to a point, probably wouldn’t generate much excitement elsewhere. As we’ve now had years of fancy dans coming in with all the skill but couldn’t really cut it in a whimpy team full of big girls blouses, it’s probably much more exciting to us than others on the outside would expect. We’ve now got a proper ****house spine to our team.
Last season he was successful crossing 33 times out of 166, so 20% Second place by number was Giles with 11 out of 60, so very slightly worse %. Giles averaged 6 crosses a game, whereas Coyle was just over 4. Meanwhile, from the left Macca attempted 24 total, 3 of which were successful. He had 19 games at LB.
Not sure anyone claimed we won the transfer window in January. People thought the likes of Barry and Matazo would mean we weren't in any danger of relegation, we were just unfortunate both sustained serious injuries early. We wouldn't have stayed up without the singings of Egan, Gelhardt and Crooks though so i'd argue the window went quite well. We were said to have won deadline day not the window in the Ben Arfa summer. We signed him, Hernandez, Diame and Ramirez all on the same day. Although we got relegated, Hernandez and Diame gave me some great days the following year, so again i'd say it wasn't too bad
It's not just the crosser who influences that stat. We all know last year was a disaster, but part of that was slow build up play, timing of run, angle of cross and attacking threat was so limited. can't wait to have some direct attacking play....and I loved the style of Roseniour
