Whatever about Newcastle and Isak, there is a three year contract in place and they can’t sign any forwards, the Crystal Palace situation is strange. Guehi has a year left on his contract, he wants to come to Liverpool, we need him and are happy to pay a fair price for him but Palace say no, not selling. I presume they know he can start formal negotiations in December to go on a free. I think I would have taken the money and bought someone else in if I was in charge of Palace

They have europe for the first time ever. Thry might be quite happy to lose 50mil.

They refused 70 last year and ended up improving and winning tje fa cup. He was only a part of that but also a major organiser for them.

They want 48 to 50 depending on the source and I'm sure we are more like 35 to 38.

If they want to genuinely improve and win the conference and he is happy to stay and play then that is their choice.

Im on record saying sell konate now but we can afford to lose the fee it seems so will keep and let him wander off if he wont sign.

They seem to be taking the attitude as winning in europe will push them on far more than selling one player.

If they can increase revenues by being a serial winner they can increase the value of the rest of squad but also maybe attract more commerical revenues.

    Its their choice.

I do wonder if Palace are waiting on outcome of their appeal and getting the community shield done this weekend and if will then see movement on that one.

Does seem like lfc are seeing it as an opportunistic one - and maybe it was one where it was a replacement for Konate and interest has cooled because the Konate contract situation is looking more like will stay - hence now being linked to younger more development CBs rather than a starter.

this makes sense, as long as he (Konate) signs. Unfortunately, Joe is a permanent sick note these days, such a shame but will still absolutely need defensive cover because of it.

Totally. I'll say again that this all has the echoes of the 2020 -21 season when we let Lovren go without a replacement, essentially because Fab had stepped in a couple of times and played a blinder (one of which was against a much-hyped Werner, iirc, which proved to be a false positive, given Werner's subsequent career). It also put into perspective that his best performances were alongside peak Virgil - perhaps a lot of players could look good in that company. The bottom line was that playing Fab for an extended period at CB had two effects - it exposed him against physical, 6"2' plus forwards as not really having the physique to do this on a permanent basis, and it also gutted our midfield of by far its best midfielder.

Talk of Gravy and/or Endo doing the job for an extended period is frightening.

So Isak was not allowed to train with club mates today, had to wait until they were gone to train alone. Eddy sure knows how to build bridges. Isak must be feeling the love now

What is United's net spend this season, considering they were already £300m in transfer debt, they have no European football, and they can't shift the majority of their flops who are on £200k+ a week? :bandit:

From inside Bayern, there is quiet recognition that the Luis Díaz transfer was orchestrated entirely on Liverpool’s terms, with Bayern left to follow along.
Richard Hughes controlled the negotiations from start to finish, setting the framework early and never letting go of the upper hand. On Bayern’s side, Jan-Christian Dreesen led the talks but lacked the authority, leverage, or instinct to shape the deal in any meaningful way.
Hughes quickly secured clear signals from the Díaz entourage that the player would be open to a move to Saudi Arabia in the near future. Armed with that assurance, Liverpool insisted on a significant sell-on clause that would allow them to benefit substantially from any future transfer. Bayern, facing internal pressure to deliver a name and lacking serious alternatives, accepted the structure as it was presented.
The final agreement includes a base fee of 72 million euros, with a further 9 million in add-ons that are considered so easily achievable that the full 81 million is already being treated as a formality. With the sell-on clause factored in, the total fee Liverpool could receive may rise to 95 or even 100 million euros if a high-value transfer occurs, which is viewed internally as a likely outcome.
Inside Bayern, there is no denial of how the deal played out. While the move is being presented publicly as a strong signing, those involved know exactly how the negotiations unfolded. Liverpool dictated the terms, protected their future interests, and extracted maximum value. Bayern, on the other hand, paid heavily, agreed to a structure they did not design, and came away with a player who may already be positioned for resale.
It was, in every sense, a deal done on Liverpool’s terms.

Everton sign Dewsbury-Hall and in talks over Grealish. DH could be a good signing for them.

That's enough imo to force a transfer request.

Tbh if there was an actual chairman or an actual director to go to I'd be saying I wont be playing for this manager.

He's already shown what he is as a player so might as well go full bore.

Very good that. As long as he is willing to work.

He signed for Chelsea with zero prospect to pay really.

I see the vultures are circling the Nunez deal...

"Bought for €85m but sold for €53m + add ons"

...completely ignoring that the €85m included add ons; it was €65m plus add ons and we've not had to pay out the full €20m either
