That's not really accurate. He's taking today's fees out with no add ons but every add on on the money coming in. Plus he is stealing my point. The prick.
Yeah. We dont know what add ons we paid so far given the league was won etc. We do know the initial fees for both ends of this deal but we also know that we have had 3 years of in effect writing the player off. Amortisation is placed on the accounts as as debt to be paid and in effect written off against tax sort of like depreciation. Any way you cut this deal we are not really losing money in an accounting perspective. In the real world we've lost on the deal and he didn't work out. Show them his cup and league medal and shrug at them. ****wits.
I don’t think that anyone would argue that Nunez isn’t exactly what we’d all wished for. We can’t get every transfer 100% right. I do know some clubs that have nearly got it 100% wrong though
This is the thing; they're just jumping on the Nunez deals because it's very rare we get a deal wrong
Did we lose out? We signed him and won the league and league cup and got CL football in those seasons and sold him for 20m less than we got him for. £20m for 2 seasons and 2 trophies (excluding the charity shield) isn’t bad going.
The discussion was more about add ons being used for the purchase price but not for the selling price
I'm sorry to see Nunez go. If ever there was a player you wanted to succeed, it was him. Left the Anfield pitch for the last time having scored. Would rather he'd gone to Italy. I wish him well.
Yeah I don’t think there is a liverpool fan around that didn’t like him. Frustrated by him? Absolutely But the guy gave 100% every time and came up with some huge goals while never causing a fuss
The 2 identical goals against Newcastle stand out. Their assistant coach doing the shush to Klopp and Klopp returning the gesture after Nunez had won us the game. Loved it
He also made some vital contributions to our success. There's no doubt Darwin's time hasn't quite been what we (and undoubtedly he) hoped for, but it would be wrong to mark it down as a dead loss. Still, haters gonna hate I suppose...
Yeah. He still goes away with a medal in his pocket and you know what? He made the people happy. (In his own mad way.) .
We might lose €20m on him at most. He was well worth the gamble. Look at how much United will lose on Anthony and Sancho. I think he may become a better player for leaving as well, especially for Uruguay. More relaxed, as he was at Benfica. Some players just can't wear the shirt of a big club. It's happened before, and it'll happen again, and not just to us. But be fair to the guy - it was never for lack of effort. That said, his head dropped dramatically after he missed that sitter at Villa last March. It's not that he wasn't trying, but you could see every ounce of self-belief was drained from him, though the fans still chanted his name - in between groans, it has to be said. Good luck to him in everything he does now, and I hope he knows he's always welcome back here when his career is over. And he - deservedly - won a league title. Not too many Liverpool players have been able to say that for the last 35 years.
Only a matter of time. https://www.teamtalk.com/liverpool/...provides-open-door-for-record-shattering-deal
