Maka’s stock is quite high also, I doubt he’d want to go back to a squad player. You’d get £2/3m for him
2/3m for Macca is absolute daylight robbery. 1m for a dependable squaddie with limitations, 2/3m suggests bit of an operator at this level in my eyes.
He’s every bit of a championship player. The only limitation to McLoughlins game is his pace. Good on the ball, great in the air and can also fill in at left back. £2/3m is the going rate for a decent champ player
maybe inflation has kicked in but it I spent 3m on someone who got turned and burned by Matt Smith I’d be less then impressed ngl
Hope Hughes isn’t leaving, I’d make him the captain next season if he stays. Can see him going for big money in a few years.
he’s just not that value in my eyes is all, Jones maybe yeah but not Macca. 1m would be absolute tops.
Our players seem to have developed a mentality that it's fine n dandy to up stumps whenever they choose now but to be fair it was the owner who opened up that avenue. He's said in the past he won't stand in anyone's way if they choose to leave,we'll soon find out who's disgruntled and who's content.
If we got an offer of £2/3m for Macca you’d be insane not to take it. And I like him, he’s a decent centre half, but you have to take that. We are pretty flush there with Hughes, Egan and Jones. Realistically he’s fourth choice and struggling to get a game unless the new manager plans to use a back 5 regularly, that’s the only way he stays under a decent offer IMO.
Beat me to it. Completely agree. It's in the realms of people thinking we'll get 6m for Alzate. Some have a very inflated view of our players. If we spent 3m on a McLoughlin equivalent from another Championship club there would be outrage on here that we're spending so much on a run of the mill defender.
