I think he’d become a decent premier league player over time but we have to stay up for that to happen. We have to make sure we’re equipped to stay up and we’ll have to make some big calls. Like Henderson though I’d like players with a connection to the club mixed in with the highly paid whiz kids. We’ve just seen how that model pays off.
Don't shoot the messenger but apparently Dembele had FTM written under his shirt today, but didnt score so couldnt show it. Expecting to see him announced on monday after PSG's celebrations.
The academy has to be the heart and soul of this club. That is more important long term than staying up next season. I think we can do both. Selling Neil without our hand being forced would rip a bit of the heart out of this club and would be the first step towards being just another Premier League team. Maybe that's what most people want. Not me. I like that we're doing something else. Being relegated next year wouldn't make me wish we were more like Forest, Burnley, Newcastle or anyone else.
On the Neil situation, not pretending I understand it and hoping someone who does will explain it, but am I right in saying income for home growns leaves added wriggle room with the finances to increase our outlay?
This is something out of our control and we have to accept that. Don't let him go for free. But I honestly don't see that as being an issue now that we've been promoted.

Well I know this isn’t true cos at the weekend she is 98% Margarita and ain’t telling anyone ****. Had you said Thursday….
I remember me and Smug saying we loved this youth approach and going up would be bittersweet because it made it hard to stick with. That means I agree with your sentiment but it’s hard to stick with because if we lose each week we would lose good vibes and harmony anyway.
I’m not saying there isn’t but in my opinion if we have any chance of staying up we’re going to have to have plenty on legs in the middle of the park! Got to be full of energy, tenacity and athleticism to stand a chance for me!
I have asked about him to a mate over there who apparently loves him, captained the youth sides at u16 and u17 at 15 years old.
