I think he’d become a decent premier league player over time but we have to stay up for that to happen. We have to make sure we’re equipped to stay up and we’ll have to make some big calls. The academy has to be the heart and soul of this club. That is more important long term than staying up next season. I think we can do both. Selling Neil without our hand being forced would rip a bit of the heart out of this club and would be the first step towards being just another Premier League team. Maybe that's what most people want. Not me. I like that we're doing something else. Being relegated next year wouldn't make me wish we were more like Forest, Burnley, Newcastle or anyone else.

I remember me and Smug saying we loved this youth approach and going up would be bittersweet because it made it hard to stick with. That means I agree with your sentiment but it’s hard to stick with because if we lose each week we would lose good vibes and harmony anyway.

 

I’m not saying there isn’t but in my opinion if we have any chance of staying up we’re going to have to have plenty on legs in the middle of the park! Got to be full of energy, tenacity and athleticism to stand a chance for me!
