Capology and Salarysport has Ward-Prowse on six figures and West Ham paid £30m for him two years ago (two years left on his deal), probably unrealistic.

They’ve already had him out on loan once, they went 2 holding.

Mind, they likely lose a couple CM this summer.

I just don't see it, they'd probably want a huge fee and we would very likely need to match his wages, he's also 30, it just seems a complete mismatch to what we usually do. With Henderson the difference is that he is a local former player, the implication is that he is coming back home and taking a pay cut, and probably for a free transfer.

I get your logic mate; we’ve got to forget what we have done before though, this is the PL.

If we have a hope of surviving we have to pivot in every direction. We will still retain the ‘model’ for sure but we must build alongside it.

We did a minor pivot in it this season with Meps etc and we are now PL.

Sir Speakman knows what needs done.

I feel like the model is, spend our money on players that will retain and grow in value, when recruiting experience (ie older players), do loans, frees or smaller fees.

It certainly has been, and that has been great. Simply won’t do for PL.

We will need a couple in and around 30 with PL games behind them for sure, might not be JWP but similar profile will be needed.

What West Ham are paying is what we will need to pay, we are aspiring to get to at least their level, You wont find a steak shopping for sausages.

If JWP was 26 I could see it, one thing about this ownership that is very different from Ellis Short is that they will protect their assets, gone are the days of signing players for millions and letting them run the contract down ie Craig Gardner, Steven Fletcher etc and a big part of that is associated with the players age.

So yes, I agree we should and probably will look for premiership experience, but I don't see us paying big fees for 30 year olds, we will look for players considerably younger than that.

Aye probably.

I wouldn’t imagine he costs the earth, fee wise.

There’s no link anyway I was more posting a ‘type’ as opposed to Hendo who’s a good bit older.

This is very controversial and I highly doubt he’d come, but if he would, I think he’d be great for where we are now and it’s a signing that newly promoted clubs could genuinely target. Experienced and a decent lower end premier league midfielder. The other one we had was great for us until the unfortunate t-shirt incident. Sean Longstaff.

I’m running for cover.
