Roger that, as it's a summary charge the police don't have to involve the CPS. There's also the fact 'I don't want to press charges' often carries little weight with the police. :emoticon-0138-think

At this point I’d look at other options. We don’t know when he will be match-fit. I’d be looking at Kyprianou on a free transfer.

Sounds like we need to replace Alzate, so I'd get Kyprianou for that. Maybe a loan on top or Simons for cover and do the Zambrano deal with January in mind.

Who’s paid his wage while he’s been suspended ?
I’m assuming us, so why would we do that and not buy him

The OB have obviously presented the evidence ( CCTV) to the CPS who have authorised a charge of Sect 4. PO.

This would imply Tommy hasn’t made a formal complaint.

Clearly the CPS don’t feel it’s serious enough or in the public interest to prosecute for assault without a complaint.

I’d have thought Affray would be better suited but it is the CPS we’re talking about.

Absolutely spot on, the CPS sanction the charges after the evidence is presented to them, they often go for the lesser offence to encourage a guilty plea or a safe conviction. Without a formal complaint from the victim its unusual to charge with low level assaults.
 
Has there been any word on when we need to finalise the retained list? Some clubs already have done. I know usually there's a date something like a week or two after the season ends by which it has to be done.
