I wouldn't, get the ****ing sicknote away from our great Club and don't let him anywhere near it again. ****!!
The police would have gone for affray, which requires the CPS to authorise a charge and it would have been reduced, by the CPS, to Sect 4. Also the ‘ I don’t want to press charges’ often carries little weight with the police suggestion, is nonsense. The OB drop cases like a lead weight if they get any chance what so ever. Having the complainant refuse to support a prosecution is the equivalent of a six yard tap in.
Yeah you never see him getting beat at his near post and if he did it wouldn't be in a really important game that's season deciding
Did I read somewhere that if Strasbourg make the CL line up, there's a good chance they won't be allowed to partake...for some rule infringement.
In that case plod blazed way over the bar with the likes of Caroline Flack, and it's far from certain if they referred this case to the CPS. Again, as it's a summary charge the police can decide to prosecute or not without contacting the CPS, as they do with many cases. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Pandur is nowhere near a Premier League goalkeeper, nevermind a Champions League one. Lot of recency bias because of how much better he was than Allsopp.
Under current arrangements they wouldn’t if Chelsea also qualified for the same European competition. The BlueCo would have to disinvest or something along those lines. Similar has happened and ended up being a bit of a shambles for Girona with Man City’s group.
I think he'd do just fine given his age and current ability. Given what he's had in front of him this season, it's fair to say he'd do a lot better with quality defenders helping him out.
Better, or just more recognisable to the majority as a shot stopper? And not the fall guy for a certain style of football? Pandur has dropped some clangers this season, largely overlooked in comparison.
No, just better. 'Player of the Season' and 'Player's Player of the Season' better. It's not even up for debate. Pandur single handedly kept us in games this season and is a very large part of the reason we had the GD we stayed up on. We lost a lot of games by one goal where he made numerous saves. I lost count of the number of times many of us had said Allsop should have prevented a goal last season and other than vs Portsmouth I'm struggling to think of many more for Pandur this season where he's let in a goal he 'should have' saved. As for shot stopping, it's the primary part of the job. I couldn't care less about distribution when there are 10 twats in front of the keeper who should be able to progress the ball.
While I agree Pandur has had a great season, I can count a number of games where we walked away having lost 1-0 saying "It's annoying because other than the goal Pandur had nothing to do in the game" and while the goal may not be his fault as a result, the fact he's not making a huge volume of saves to keep us in games (I mean I can only really think of the QPR win early in the season where that was true?) doesn't really speak to him 'single handedly' keeping us in games surely? I'm not sure where these 1-0 losses where Pandur made numerous saves are, but in our last three (Derby, Swansea, Watford) he made 4 saves combined in the three games. None particularly threatening. Pandur also cost us 2 points v Derby early in the season with his positioning, and there's certainly other poor goals he's conceded at his near post through the season, not just against Portsmouth. In terms of goals prevented over the ENTIRE season, he's only prevented a net 1.6 goals (I think this is based on xG faced v conceded) which has him 14th in the Championship. In terms of saves per game he's 8th, and he's top for most accurate passes which is a big credit, but the goals prevented speaks to him NOT single handedly keeping us in games, but rather our defensive structure minimising the number of dangerous shots he has had to face.
Based on what we saw here, I pretty much agree, I was playing Devil's advocate. But Pandur hasn't been perfect, goal on Saturday was case in point. So let's not think he's the new Gordon Banks just yet. Still think he needs credible competition to challenge him. And it will be interesting what RA's role turns out to be in the newly resurgent Birmingham next season.
Agree Youd think we had prime neuer with the way some people talk about pandur He's had a great season, but like you say, we are majorly overhyping him, guess theres no harm in that
