Yeh I'd be very surprised but then I was shocked when Rosie went. I'd like us to keep him and aim for stability but I do hope with a transfer window behind him and less pressure on the players that the way we play changes a bit. We pretty much look like a league one team tactically, the way our passing has regressed is wild.

He needs a summer to build a squad in his image. We’ve been a midtable side with him in charge and if that’s the baseline with the lack of goals we’ve had I’ll take it

So we will be signing Peurta and then selling him straight away. Could make a short profit on him. Certainly don’t need to be losing money on him, he’s our best midfielder by a country mile. I’d like to see Omur under a pre season with Selles and play him at 10.

It’d be stupid to get rid of Selles.

Like it or not - he’s kept us up by making us solid defensively. We didnt go down because we conceded fewer goals than Luton.

He deserves to show us what he can do with a fully fit attack.

His record was decent across his whole stint. It was just a little unfortunate that everyone around us hit form at the end of season. It also highlighted the power of beating the teams around you, if we could have traded wins against Sheff Utd and Sunderland for wins against Luton and Derby, we would have been fine.

Unless we can bring in an absolutely top class manager, we should be keeping Selles. He deserves a full season with some key transfers and a fully fit team to see what he can really do.

Also why loan Puerta with a clause to buy, only to end up buying him to sell him on? I cant see us making much money on him so why not keep him? He'll be massive for us next season.

There's so many other players we can get rid of to free up some money.. Sinik's leaving, sell Omur, Giles etc... those 3 alone off the wage budget would be massive.

Id actually be interested to see what Omur can do in a Selles team.

That’s a good point
But
Does that go to the mentality of the team? In the crunch they didn’t have the mental fortitude to scrap It out? less pressure when you’re expected to get beaten ?

It was a really strange one to understand because you're right, we struggled in a load of pivotal moments, but when we dropped in to the bottom three we would produce something which I guess are also crunch moments.

Who has the new fella who’s coming in to work with Dublin worked with before that might point to why we’re shifting Ruben on? Does he coincide with Russell Martin’s time at Swansea?

He and we were doing very well until the last international break. There’s sufficient rumours from the posters who either are, or claim to be, ITK that the club (by which I read Acun) naively told the players who was staying and who was going at the end of the season during that break.

That may or may not be true, but if it is then it both explains why we’ve gone backwards since and counterintuitively for me also makes it more likely that he’ll get sacked as I suspect Acun won’t accept being seen as the reason for the season so nearly going down the pan.

I’d let the released players go, get replacements that suit Selles and let him build morale back up with people who want to be here. But that feels a bit too steady and sensible for us…
