After the Derby game and going into todays match as favourites to go down then what a relief, Championship again next season yet it could have-been so different. Doesn't Matter now though it’s over and my poor heart is slowly getting back to normal. Unfortunately my liver which thought it was getting a night off is definitely going to be working overtime. Well done to all those who made such a long distance, they must have helped the players so much. Enjoy your night everyone

Hey, the last time we stayed up on the final day, the following season we ended up...well. This league is a bit mental, so you never know what will happen. Methinks it's going to be an interesting off season.
Leicester will probably start with a points deduction and a lot of players leaving, they're not in good shape at all. Southampton are probably best equipped to go back up, Ipswich you feel will have enough to be challenging up near the top. But the rest of it will be anybody's game.
The two coming up, Birmingham you'd think would do well given they already have a Championship squad but their fans seem to think they might hit a snag if they don't trim their wage budget. Wrexham will probably try their hardest to write a fairytale but I think it'll be a step too far for them (won't go down, probably mid table). The team coming up through the playoffs, whoever it ends up being is going to struggle badly. I mean, Stockport, Wycombe, Charlton, Leyton Orient or Reading, I can't see any of those smashing it. But then, Oxford did way better than expected, ditto Portsmouth.
Next season might be a good opportunity to kick on, so hopefully the financial side of things is sorted out on our end.

Its not rocket science, but we need a massive change of direction over the summer with new players and someone at the top who is actually interested. Because that ain't the owner...If he's lost interest he needs to see if he can sell, or, at least hand it over to a CEO who has the ability and nouce to run a football club because that isn't Mister Acun...Just heard a reference on RH to a wage bill at the MKM that's in excess of £2.5m a month...FFS, who've we got on the books?...How much is Sinik getting to do absolutely feck all?

It's true that we've achieved nothing and the season has been a failure. But also the last five months under Selles has been job done. He came in to keep us up, as did many of the players and they did it. We shouldn't lose our heads over it, but the players and Selles who've been kicked from pillar to post for months and had to take it all on the chin deserve their few moments of catharsis with the fans.
I still don't really understand what I'm not understanding about Crooks and why he hasn't played more often. To me he seems such an obvious pick, so much more effective than most of our team, I can't understand why he's barely played lately.
The Pompey goal, maybe it's a mistake but the guy made it possible by twatting it with his laces. I wish we'd do that more often instead of taking apologetic soft shots.

Congratulations from Texas, lads. Regardless of the season's travails which led to the final day predicament, the Tigers did what was necessary to keep Championship football at Hull next season. I'll drink to that. Well, perhaps later in the morning when the missus wakes up We drove to Houston last night and got to bed about 2am. I had to get up for a 6:30am kickoff.
If we had gone down, we'd basically be knackered financially and would have been heading into administration by Xmas because the TV money from the EFL is **** all. As it is now, we're a more attractive proposition to any potential investors/buyers and we'll get full value for our players if they go (which, some will).
If you've ever seen the film Deep Impact with Elijah Wood and Morgan Freeman, we're at the stage where we've blown up the big comet, but we can't really do much about the smaller one. It'll hit; we will have to, as Baz likes to say, cut our cloth accordingly. But we can at least survive it and rebuild.

I know what you mean, the chance we had where it fell to Joseph I think and their keeper made a worldie of a save, then again when Egan had that header. It always feels like when we do get clear cut chances, the opposition keeper pulls it out the top drawer.
I agree about Crooks, but I also think John Egan's influence has gone under the radar; he's helped Hughes come on massively.

I can still see Alzate, Hughes, Pandur and Kamara going. Some others too. The important thing is we survived relegation.

This game was massive. We have earned the right to be Championship and from there things happen.
