He’s better as an impact player off the bench. I’d start Crooks but have no evidence to base this on other than his performance against Sheffield United.
Crooks from what I've seen is just an effective penalty box player, which we lack hugely. He's not graceful and he's dirty and horrible but again, that's what we need and lack a lot of the time. There must be a reason he never plays but I'd always be finding a place for him personally. Palmer is the absolute opposite. Nice and tidy, everyone seems to like him but achieves incredibly little and I suspect takes a decent wage.
True, although for some reason I instinctively feel more sympathetic to him. I suppose because he did perform so well last season, and I think the club are too quick to write players off and replace them.
Also, although he was struggling with regards to goal involvement's, he still did a lot of good things and in my opinion was never a hinderance or a passenger.
They completely wasted Omut, he would have been an ideal number 10. However, he’s been fairly horrific when he’s gone back too TurkeyZ something doesn’t sit right.
But, just like with Coyle, Slater and Jones, he was a regular in a team that finished 7th and played some great football, so when we find ourselves in 22nd and barely scoring a goal it seems rich to write him off as not good enough for us.
Being good enough is not just it Theres so many caveats Technically he's great, but he has no real influence in games for us in the championship He could go and do great somewhere, its how it is, but hes on loan for a reason
I think that is a big part of our problem. Binning players like him off too quickly and signing someone else, so we end up paying far more players than we should be with half of them on other clubs' books.
I suppose thats one feature of having so many managers in a short period of time Some will like one player Others wont Some players thrive in one Others in another No consistency
