Saturday was proof that we have a great team. We are in a position way below where we should be, we will be fine and pushing for top half next season.
Stop the panic.

True on two accounts. Though showing more bottle and fight for the battle ahead. Unlike us and that's a concern.

Again not looking for an argument, but just to point out that you are wrong. If Cardiff win say by 1 and we lose by 4 then both Cardiff and Stoke could go above us. If Derby also win then we end up back in the bottom 3.
Quite conceivable that Cardiff beat Stoke, Derby beat Portsmouth and we lose (at home!) to Coventry who need the win for top 6. Maybe unlikely that we lose by 4, but far from inconceivable and quite possible that we end up out of the bottom 3 only by goal difference.
All that said, hopefully none of those results happen and we pull another rabbit out of the hat and beat Coventry.
Elder is everything wrong with the modern game from a commitment perspective. Out on the piss all the time and barely ever trains as he always milks nigglesElder's an average performer at this level – does a reasonable job. The real issue is that the players brought in to replace him haven't been up to scratch, despite significant investment.
That said, people need to understand that, for various reasons, we simply can't hold on to every player and run a squad of 60. Transfers are always a bit of a gamble - some work out, some don’t.
And while this regime has its faults when it comes to player recruitment, there aren’t many former players who’ve left and gone on to do so well that we’re left regretting letting them go - very much including Elder.
Show me, because as sure a F I dont see it... Like many, we're looking at other teams and hoping they get beaten. I'd bet from the top down theyre looking that way too. Do you honestly think this lot have the balls for a last day at Portsmouth based on what we're seeing. Since Selles came in, there has been one occasion that I thought 'here we go' and that was at Sheff Utd.
Only one that comes close was Pedro v Pompeywe just have a bunch of players who dont really do anything
no directness in the team
no pace
no skill
just very very very journymen like
we couldn't even score a goal like watford last night
becasue we have none of that pace, speed, urgency and directness

What? Central midfield is where we’re stacked.
I’d sell Slater and Palmer in the summer. Would rather have Mehlem back.

Yep. Telling it as it is .... except that we can't go into bottom 3 before Monday, only after our game on Monday if results go against us and we lose by 4. Still, shows how tight it now is and how precarious our situation is.I've really grown to like Baz. He tells it as it is, basically this is a xxxx team lacking skill and commitment. Running around getting nowhere, passing sideways and backwards looking for inspiration from someone else doesn't fool anyone. The problem for me is the recruitment, too many journeymen signed probably at a knock down price. I think they'll scrape home and then hopefully plan a summer clear out.

Tend to agree ....but can't help think that, in spite of shortcomings in the squad, he has a plethora of options available in midfield and attack and should by now be showing more in terms of our attacking play. We seem to have gone backwards (no pun intended). The last 3 games have been nothing short of dire in that respect. And that simply isn't good enough. One thing I would say in support of Selles in relation to our boring and depressing football of late is that this is how it often goes when a manager has to turn around a crap team. That first season often is about tightening things up and getting results without being adventurous. Then after a proper summer they open up a bit. Rosenior was very much that way. I certainly agree that it's been pretty crap to watch lately (arguably for a long time in fact) but I think the job to judge him on now is simply keeping us up. Once he does that, we can then start judging him by the quality and expansiveness of the football from next season.
