Very true. But could I just put a word in for mcloughlin. I thought he was excellent today. Thst position is such a problem for us and he is doing well.
He's been a find... I hope the club see sense in extending his contract. If not, he's worth a good bit more than 10 weeks ago.

Not ready for play-offs' - Rohl reaction
Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl told BBC Radio Sheffield:

"Big credit to my team, to take this tough week, to stay here and go again, to fight again for our club. It took time to come into it, but in the second half it was one direction.

"It's hard but the key message for me is that this team has big, big character and big, big belief. A lot of players take all the setbacks again and again and it makes me very proud.

"The motivation comes from the inner circle, there's no question mark. The emotional level was there - they want to fight, they want to go and do everything, but you can understand what it means for this group.

"It makes no sense to speak about the play-offs. We should be honest, and we're not ready for the play-offs. We did an outstanding job and felt we were always close, but in the second half of the season in all these tight games, we could have won maybe six home games, but we didn't."

I fully agree with the praise for Pandur but why the jibes at Allsop. I know nobody has mentioned Allsop by name but I guess they think they're clever by doing that.

Why not just rejoice in the win

Such an ugly but vital win. Our play was dismal throughout, our passing was atrocious and we had no bite up front. Saving grace was that our back line and Pandur all played well. Thought Joseph and Kamara were not up for it. Joseph has been so disappointing and both Kamara and Gelhart contributed llttle. Puzzled why Alzate was dropped? I have said it before and will say it again, when Harry Vaughan had his cameos on the left he performed as well as anybody in that position has. Not that he is going to get a chance but I dont understand why he does not.
Thank heaven for Charlie Hughes. Lets hope he can go on and score more from corners and set pieces. We have not had someone who can score a goal with his head since, from corners especially, since MIchael Turner.

I don't think the jibes are aimed at Allsop in particular, more at the notion that ball-playing keepers in general are superior.
