He reminds me of Berbatov, his style is can’t be arsed, but when he can, he looks very good. As others have said, he was brought in as one for the future, give him time. I think next year he’ll be in the first team on merit, not by necessity.
"I'm feeling really well after the victory," Selles told Hull Live when asked to sum up his emotions. "It was a difficult game, as we expected. We managed to stay in the game until the very end, and then that action just gave us the three points. "Sometimes you need to fight for those moments, for those little tiny details that give you the three points. We have been on the other side and today we were able to get the three points." Selles admits his first thought when Hughes powered in Lincoln's pinpoint free-kick was to reorganise his side for the restart, amid absolute scenes of delirium on the bench and in the Leppings Lane end of Hillsborough. "My feeling was, well, everyone was jumping and in and around, and I immediately needed to think about how do we close the game out," he said. "We had to defend a couple of set plays, but it was about how do we organise the team for those final moments." Selles said: "It's a big win because it's the win that we have in front of us. We always speak about it. When we pass today, we intend to go to Watford and try to get the three points. It's important for us to know what we are doing. We had the chat after the Luton game (about a big chance missed). It was a (disappointing) game, but the reality is that we had three out of the last six. "We have lost only one game in that sense, and the team has been competitive in every single game. We need to know that we have a lot of things to improve, but we also are on a path that is leading us to be competitive. That's the main thing for us and we need to take care of our business, be competitive, take our chances like today, score a goal, get the three points. Sometimes it's not going to be pretty, but we must keep competing, competing and competing."

Really surprised to see so much negativity about today’s performance. Thought we were always in the game, a clash of two sides that were both poor at times. Kamara did ok, Wednesday did three or four man overloads out wide on several occasions and he can’t mark them all. Gelhardt on the other hand, was uncharacteristically flaky and whingy. Hope he cheers up for Tuesday. Pedro was ****ing excellent. Skilful up front and did a big share of defending when called upon.
A shocker of a game in a shocker of a stadium. Despite the pitch looking in a fantastic condition, both teams did their best to give the impression that it would be unfair on the opposition to pass the ball to one of their own. Did the wind filtering through the gaps in the stand play a part? The City crowd generated a great atmosphere for the first thirty minutes but as the game went on, the will to be enthused died away, only springing back to life in last ten minutes or so. Yet the magnificent goal by Hughes produced scenes of delirium, an orgasm of exhaltation rendering the previous 94 minutes irrelevant. When viewed on a screen as a replay it looks a bullet header. In real time, it was as though time stood still until the net bulged. Moments like this don’t happen very often which make them even more special.
Early Stuart Hall would be proud of that report, notwithstanding his later scandal. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
It was a very nerve game, lacklustre and until the last 10 minutes when Palmer etc came on, we didn't look like scoring. Nevertheless, 3 points and the win at this stage is all that matters. A quality ball in from Lincoln and Hughes header was a sight to behold, Pandur had another very good game and kept us in it. It was interesting Egan came in for Jones, Alfie is a good defender but when he brings the ball out of defense is very often ponderous, I wonder if that's why Ruben put Egan in? Even though we have given away some sloppy goals, defensively we are one of the better sides in the league, which highlights even more acutely that scoring has been our problem. On to Watford, let's hope we can get something from the game, another 3 points would certainly give us some breathing space.
I agree with you entirely on Joseph, he’s terrible imo. In contrast my uncle thinks I’m talking ****e and he will come good, even said he thought Joseph was one of the better players today. I have no doubt we’ll be trying to flog him soon.
I think you’ve mentioned another vital stat in the equation, the ball in from Lincoln, it was tremendous.
Thought Joseph was bright today, he’s certainly not letting his head drop. He started a few decent moments in this first half through his pressure and winning the ball back, shame about the chance he missed
