Maybe he hasn't given up hope that we'll see the player that Leaburn was before his injury, and that will only happen if he gets a few games under his belt.
 
I’m trying really hard to like Nathan Jones, and there’s absolutely no doubt he’s doing an excellent job as manager now.

But …I have no idea what he’s hoping to achieve after an excellent win yesterday by saying he still has the snide comments of Charlton fans after the Crawley defeat “ringing in his ears”, and that he’s using them as fuel to motivate himself.

Really silly & ill judged comments IMO.

He has form.

Whether or not he gets Charlton promoted this season I think he will be gone in the Summer.
I get the feeling his relationship with CAFC is mutually parasitic rather than mutually beneficial. He's using the Club as a shop window, and the Club is using him to haul itself out of 3rd tier obscurity.

I hope both sides get what they want.
If Charlton narrowly fails NJ might get his job offer from somewhere anyway, and we get nothing.
Not even stability.

And despite what the owners say, I think promotion will mean the sale of the whole Club within 6 months. Then all bets are off.

An interesting view which I think particularly has legs should we not go up.
I do think he is a loose cannon.

I was sceptical of him initially but I think he’s proved himself for now , I think with proper investment he could deliver a championship team - for now I’m enjoying the ride :emoticon-0165-muscl

It's especially strange when you see the way he celebrates with the fans after a win. I prefer the low-key approaches of Bowyer or Curbs. Leave it to the players to celebrate with the fans. SPC doing the tunnel jumps as manager was similar.

I was referring to Seriously Red, not Nathan Jones.

Although your point is still valid.
 
I see the usual round of sackings has begun among those Clubs who narrowly missed out on the play-offs.
If Charlton fail to get to Wembley, or fail at Wembley, should NJ get the tin tack?

I'm guessing the majority will think no.
I wonder though if he will hang around anyway - whether we go up or not.
 
No. Presumably the minim target this year was a playoff position. He has achieved that
 
Stockport and Orient are in great form, and will fancy their chances as much as we will.
 
If Nathan Jones wins promotion for Charlton he will be joining a fairly small group of what I would call our 'good' managers.
Those who have won a promotion to the 2nd tier for the Club.

These comprise (in my view) the 'second tier' of Charlton managers, below the big three - who guided us to the Top Flight

I liked Chris Powell and I liked Lee Bowyer.
Can't really recall feeling much about those from earlier on.
I don't like Nathan Jones and I don't think anything bar a miracle will change that.
Perhaps if he gets us promoted, and then we consolidate in the Championship (mid table finish) I might warm to him a bit.
