gaffers gone on about injuries, players available etc

Has the closest thing to a full deck all season and still uses 2 subs max.
Close to a full deck....apart from Ballard, Alese, Samed, Le Fee, and Poveda you mean?

What game changing subs would you have made? Anderson for Isidor? Maybe Hjelde on for Roberts?

I’ll repeat what I’ve said a few times tonight as my final post of the night. Our form now has no bearing on the playoffs. They’re still relatively miles away. It’s too soon to be “in form” for the playoffs.

Im relaxed about where we are. It’s been a great season and I’m excited about Le Fee and Mundle being in this side at the same time heading into the playoffs.

It’s all about May. March and early April are irrelevant.

Tell you what, forgetting the game and result; I’ve just got in and all I can think about is how utterly disgusted and embarrassed if my team did what they did to time waste.

I’d literally want a manager gone for that, it was comically horrific and cringeworthy. Loved that we scored shortly after.

Massive opportunity missed tonight, and after that charade I have no time at all for Preston. There should be reds for that one of the ****s crawled onto pitch I’m sure and sat down.

It’s a problem that Wilson can’t score tap ins. My missus would have scored that header. Love the lad but his close range, sniffer type finishing is garbage:

we were poor tonight and Preston was worse time wasting team we seen was utter shocking and typical we were poor when Burnley and Sheff Utd drop points at same time hopefully we be better on Saturday

The 442 doesn't work in the modern game unless it's against another team playing the same system or you are playing a team who will dominate the ball and you can sit in a 442 low block and spring rapid counter attacks. The reason it worked decades ago is because everyone was playing it.

You get completely over ran in midfield and you have no connection between midfield and attack.

hasnt our shape out of position been 442 all season?

yes predominately with a front two of Rigg and Isidor.

I think we need to ultimately find a way to get le fee in the pocket, mundle left and mayenda central

i think maybe is stupendous atm, cant believe he was hooked, looked sharp

2 centre mids didnt put in performances to warrant not be switched for browne

aleksic still yet to get a sniff when we are as flat as that

its facetious to suggest otherwise, its a fact for as larger part of the season he could call on 1 if not 2 named players on the bench, tonight he had 4 minimum, thats fact.

Just home mixture of frustration and disappointment.

Missed a couple of good chances, Wilson not really great at headers and Watson should have done better.

Positives- well the goal was almost worth the admission. Mundle looks lively, Rigg was a decent cameo.

Negatives - not sure why Mayenda was taken off. Very sluggish through the game.
Sick of these teams falling over that 6 minutes of hold up was nothing short of pathetic. The FA/EFL really need to sort this. Another home game slips by.

We need to pick up the tempo in games

When people go out of their way to say things are "facts" it just strengthens the argument that in fact they are merely offering their opinion.

If you knew better than RLB you'd be a football manager.

****e game but that happens sometimes.

Crowd sometimes needs to fire the players on in situations like this (to an extent) but I swear I could hear the conversations on the bench from the east stand it was that quiet. We can do better than 10 minutes of noise really. Not sure the solution though.

Anyway happy to see Mundle back HTL.

How many of those actually get minutes? He can’t whinge about injuries because he rarely make subs until late on when our bench is stacked.

When the ball is in the opposition half yeah but Rigg would drop into the right central midfield spot as soon as the ball came into our half. The 442 out of possession is extremely common, most teams do it. In possession though it killed us tonight.

Thinking back there were still plenty of moments where we could have killed it. Just in the first half there was the Isidor sitter of a header, the Watson one at the back post and then the one where Wilson’s shot from wide almost laid it on for Mayenda. If only he’d actually lifted his head and tried for the pass.

I’d have Roberts down as a sneaky decent performer this evening too. He’s continuing to be dangerous and driving us forward imo. It feels like we’ve got a clear starting XI just about to emerge and a good proportion of them are already in decent form. Just need to work out main midfielder back into it and get ELF bedded into the centre and we’ll have a very good chance in the playoffs.
