Jobe got his usual every second. That isn’t a dig like but I was surprised how many thought he might just rest him

Yeah I think it hampered the 4-4-2 experiment a bit. Just meant bad decisions and bad execution in good moments first half. His back post header was almost as bad a miss as Isidors shortly after. The minutes will be good for us as we get to the playoffs, but I’d have expected a different result if just those two players had been swapped around.

Ah well. Another game closer to ELF getting back. And then we can start bedding in our playoff team. Decisions for RLB to make though.

Covered some ground tonight I thought. But he looked knackered in last 15. Defo a sub needed there.

That “gamesmanship” needs kicked out immediately like, absolutely ruins football. Hate it when we do it too. We don’t play quick enough though and absolutely zero movement through the team, but we did miss a few easy chances

Rigg and Mundle good when they came on. Think both will start on Saturday. Watson and Isodor poor.

I was surprised Mundle didn’t start tbh. Delighted for him with the goal

4/4/2 was not the problem , the players were. Some of our starting regular "stars" were a bit of a luxury tonight against a very good Preston side. Who were coasting until the Mundle magic. A draw wasn't too bad in the end, but the performance was not good , not good at all. But its still all to play for imo.

i go on about being an emotional fan but ive just got back and sorry but that was poor

its not just the fact our rivals have dropped points and we've failed to capitalise, its the fact we need adversity or to go a goal down to get into third gear.

Our style is ****ing ****e, at home, against Preston and we're literally happy and set up to be primarily without the ball, creating one of the flattest atmosphere all season. It felt a bit like paint by numbers but the football version, in love with the percentage ball, zero risk tolerance highlighted by the backwards passing and repeated nature of the stop and turn movements from our ball carriers.

Zero zip and zap, feel as if we massive miss a guy in the middle, a guy with the keys and if were going to persist with the 442 shape enzo HAS to be one of the two centre mid.

It;s not an over reaction but our form since leeds, and performances are worrying and whilst the playoffs are a one off event and very much on the day, it's worrying sorry.

also can someone explain how their 29 didnt get a second yellow for all tht time wasting? surely going down, getting up, going down, going on and off the pitch is time wasting?

gaffers gone on about injuries, players available etc

Has the closest thing to a full deck all season and still uses 2 subs max.

Good chance you get pelters but I agree with pretty much all of that mate. It’s been a concern for a while now, zero risk football. Not massively confident heading into a play off campaign. Don’t like how tight our games are against poorer opposition

442 absolutely was the problem in every way shape or form

nobody to break the lines to, wingers had no inside option meaning Preston couldn’t defend the wings 3 on 2 without worries. Second balls become a lot harder.

I don’t know how people don’t see this

Of course it was a problem. We allowed them time on the ball and to get runners from midfield due to us not controlling the game.

Playing it with inverted wingers was also a big issue.

The poor performance overshadowed Mundle's goal a bit. Unbelievable strike that I'd started going '****ing hell' when the trajectory started off as it looked like it was going well wide.

The 442 doesn't work in the modern game unless it's against another team playing the same system or you are playing a team who will dominate the ball and you can sit in a 442 low block and spring rapid counter attacks. The reason it worked decades ago is because everyone was playing it.

You get completely over ran in midfield and you have no connection between midfield and attack.

Just got home. That was pretty poor, but a draw the right result. PNE got what they deserved with their embarrassing timewasting
